扫罗看见耶和华与大卫同在，又知道自己的女儿米甲也爱大卫，

他从灰尘中抬举贫寒人，从粪堆中提拔穷乏人，使他们和权贵同坐，就是和他子民中的权贵同坐，

大卫所行的一切都亨通，因为耶和华与他同在。

拿单对大卫说：“你可以照你的心意去作，因为神与你同在。”

大卫王又从哈大底谢的两座城比他和比罗他夺取了大量的铜。

你无论到哪里去，我都与你同在；我必在你面前剪除你所有的仇敌。我要使你得享大名，像世上那些伟人的名一样。

耶和华我的力量啊！我爱你。

于是大卫在大马士革的亚兰地驻军。这样亚兰人就臣服大卫，给他进贡。大卫无论到什么地方去，耶和华都使他得胜。

我与你同在，你无论到哪里去，我必看顾你；我必领你回到这地方来，因为我必不离弃你，直到我实现了我对你所应许的。”

非利士人与以色列人交战。以色列人从非利士人面前逃跑，有很多人在基利波山上倒毙。非利士人紧紧追赶扫罗和他的众子，击杀了扫罗的儿子约拿单、亚比拿达和麦基舒亚。战争激烈，扫罗受到猛烈的攻击，弓箭手发现了他，射箭的人射中了他，他的伤势严重；扫罗就对替他拿兵器的人说：“拔出你的刀来，把我刺透，免得这些未受割礼的人来把我刺透，戏弄我。”但替他拿兵器的人不肯这样作，因为他非常害怕。于是扫罗拿过刀来，自己伏在刀上死了。替他拿兵器的人看见扫罗死了，他也伏在自己的刀上，与扫罗一起死了。这样，扫罗和他的三个儿子，以及替他拿兵器的人，还有所有跟随他的人，都在那一天一同死了。

神啊，这在你眼中看为小事，你对你仆人的家的未来发出应许！耶和华神啊，你看我好像一个高贵的人。

大卫在盐谷击杀了一万八千以东人回来以后，就大有名声。他又在以东设立防军；他在以东各地都设立防军，所有以东人就都臣服大卫。大卫无论到什么地方去，耶和华都使他得胜。

在耶和华拯救大卫脱离所有仇敌和扫罗的手的日子，他向耶和华唱出这首歌的歌词。

万军之耶和华与我们同在；雅各的神是我们的保障。（细拉）

我追赶仇敌，把他们追上，不消灭他们，我必不归回。我吞灭他们，重创他们，使他们不能起来；他们都倒在我的脚下。你以能力给我束腰，使我能够作战；你又使那些起来攻击我的人都屈服在我的脚下。你使我的仇敌在我面前转背逃跑，使我可以歼灭恨我的人。
