现在你要对我的仆人大卫说：‘万军之耶和华这样说：我把你从羊圈中选召出来，使你不再跟随羊群，使你作领袖管治我的子民以色列。

现在你要告诉我仆人大卫，说万军之耶和华如此说：‘我从羊圈中将你召来，叫你不再跟从羊群，立你作我民以色列的君。

现在，你要对我仆人大卫这样说：‘万军之耶和华如此说：我从羊圈中将你召来，叫你不再牧放羊群，立你作我百姓以色列的君王。

现在，你要对我仆人大卫这样说：‘万军之耶和华如此说：我从羊圈中将你召来，叫你不再牧放羊群，立你作我百姓以色列的君王。

“现在你要告诉我的仆人大卫，‘万军之耶和华说，你原本在草场牧羊，我召你来做我以色列子民的首领。

現在你要告訴我僕人大衛，說萬軍之耶和華如此說：『我從羊圈中將你召來，叫你不再跟從羊羣，立你作我民以色列的君。

「現在你要告訴我的僕人大衛，『萬軍之耶和華說，你原本在草場牧羊，我召你來做我以色列子民的首領。

現在你要對我的僕人大衛說：‘萬軍之耶和華這樣說：我把你從羊圈中選召出來，使你不再跟隨羊群，使你作領袖管治我的子民以色列。

現在你要對我僕人大衛這樣說：「萬軍之永恆主這麼說：我將你從羊圈中、從趕羊羣的事上選取了來，讓你做人君來管理我人民以色列。

故當謂我僕大衛曰、萬軍之耶和華云、我自羊牢中、羊羣後、取爾為我民以色列之君、

今當告我僕大闢、萬有之主耶和華云、昔爾在羊牢為牧、我特遴選爾、使為我民、以色列族長、

今爾告我僕大衛曰、萬有之主如是云、昔我自羊牢中、自羊群後、召爾立為我民以色列之君、

“ Now then, tell my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord Almighty says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, and appointed you ruler over my people Israel.

“ So tell my servant David,‘ The Lord who rules over all says,“ I took you away from the grasslands. That is where you were taking care of your father’s sheep and goats. I appointed you ruler over my people Israel.

Now, therefore, thus shall you say to my servant David,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts, I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people Israel,

“ Now go and say to my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has declared: I took you from tending sheep in the pasture and selected you to be the leader of my people Israel.

“ So now this is what you are to say to my servant David:‘ This is what the LORD of Armies says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, to be ruler over my people Israel.

Now, therefore, this is what you shall say to My servant David:‘ This is what the Lord of armies says:“ I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be leader over My people Israel.

Now therefore, thus shall you say to My servant David,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people Israel.

Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be prince over my people Israel:

“ Now this is what you will say to My servant David:‘ This is what the Lord of Hosts says: I took you from the pasture and from following the sheep to be ruler over My people Israel.

Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote,[ even] from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over my people Israel:

“ So now, say this to my servant David:‘ This is what the LORD who commands armies says:“ I took you from the pasture and from your work as a shepherd to make you a leader of my people Israel.

“ Now therefore, you shall tell my servant David,‘ Yahweh of Armies says,“ I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people Israel.

大卫对米甲说：“我是在耶和华面前跳舞（《马索拉文本》无“跳舞”；现参照《七十士译本》补上）；耶和华拣选了我，使我高过你父亲和他的全家，立我作耶和华的子民以色列的领袖，所以我要在耶和华面前跳舞作乐。

‘犹大地的伯利恒啊！你在犹大的领袖中，并不是最小的，因为必有一位领袖从你那里出来，牧养我的子民以色列。’”

大卫有时离开扫罗，回到伯利恒牧放他父亲的羊群。

他拣选了自己的仆人大卫，把他从羊圈中召出来；他领他出来，使他不再跟着那些母羊，却要牧养他的子民雅各，和他的产业以色列。

西门的伙伴，西庇太的儿子雅各、约翰也是这样。耶稣对西门说：“不要怕！从今以后，你要作得人的渔夫了。”

耶稣在加利利海边行走的时候，看见兄弟二人，就是名叫彼得的西门和他的弟弟安得烈，正在把网撒到海里去；他们是渔夫。耶稣就对他们说：“来跟从我，我要使你们作得人的渔夫。”他们立刻撇下网，跟从了他。耶稣又往前走，看见另一对兄弟，就是西庇太的儿子雅各和他的兄弟约翰，正和父亲西庇太在船上整理鱼网，他就呼召他们。他们立刻离了船，别了父亲，跟从了耶稣。

撒母耳问耶西：“孩子们全都在这里吗？”耶西回答：“还有一个最小的，正在牧羊。”撒母耳对耶西说：“你派人去把他带回来，因为他没有来到以前，我们决不入席。”耶西就派人去把大卫带回来。他面色红润，眼目清秀，外貌英俊。耶和华说：“就是这一个，你起来膏立他吧！”

现在你要对我的仆人大卫这样说：‘万军之耶和华这样说：我把你从牧场中、从照顾羊群的工作中拣选出来，使你作我子民以色列的领袖，

阿摩司回答亚玛谢说：“我原不是先知，也不是先知的门徒；我本是牧人，是修理桑树的，但耶和华选召我，叫我不再跟随羊群；他对我说：‘你去，向我民以色列说预言。’

那时，摩西正在牧放他岳父米甸祭司叶忒罗的羊群。有一次，他把羊群领到旷野的尽头去，到了神的山，就是何烈山。耶和华的使者从荆棘丛里的火焰中向摩西显现。摩西观看，看见荆棘被火烧着，却没有烧毁。摩西说：“我要到那边去，看看这大异象，这荆棘为什么烧不掉？”耶和华见摩西要到那边去观看，神就从荆棘丛里呼叫他，说：“摩西，摩西。”摩西说：“我在这里。”耶和华说：“不可过到这里来；要把你脚上的鞋脱掉，因为你所站的地方是圣地。”又说：“我是你父亲的神、亚伯拉罕的神、以撒的神、雅各的神。”摩西因为怕见神，就把自己的脸蒙住了。耶和华说：“我的子民在埃及所受的痛苦，我实在看见了；他们因受督工的辖制所发的呼声，我也听见了；他们的痛苦，我是知道的。所以我下来，要救他们脱离埃及人的手，领他们脱离那地，到美好宽阔之地，到流奶与蜜之地，就是到迦南人、赫人、亚摩利人、比利洗人、希未人和耶布斯人的地方。现在以色列人的呼声已经达到我的面前，我也看见了埃及人对他们所施的压迫。所以现在你来，我要派你到法老那里去，使你可以把我的人民以色列人从埃及领出来。”
