After David was settled in his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet,“ Here I am, living in a house of cedar, while the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent.”

David moved into his palace. Then he spoke to Nathan the prophet. He said,“ Here I am, living in a house that has beautiful cedar walls. But the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent.”

Now when David lived in his house, David said to Nathan the prophet,“ Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent.”

When David was settled in his palace, he summoned Nathan the prophet.“ Look,” David said,“ I am living in a beautiful cedar palace, but the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant is out there under a tent!”

When David had settled into his palace, he said to the prophet Nathan,“ Look! I am living in a cedar house while the ark of the LORD’s covenant is under tent curtains.”

And it came about, when David lived in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet,“ Look, I am living in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under tent curtains.”

Now it came to pass, when David was dwelling in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet,“ See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under tent curtains.”

And it came to pass, when David dwelt in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of Jehovah dwelleth under curtains.

When David had settled into his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet,“ Look! I am living in a cedar house while the ark of the Lord’s covenant is under tent curtains.”

Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD[ remaineth] under curtains.

When David had settled into his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet,“ Look, I am living in a palace made from cedar, while the ark of the LORD’s covenant is under a tent.”

When David lived in his house, David said to Nathan the prophet,“ Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of Yahweh’s covenant is in a tent.”

大衛於大衛城建宮室、又為上帝匱備所張幕、

我自導以色列人出埃及、至於今日、未嘗居室、乃處帷幕、由此遷彼、

夫大衛獲恩於上帝、求為雅各之上帝得一居所、

遣祭司撒督、先知拿單、耶何耶大子比拿雅、及基利提人、比利提人從之、使乘王騾、

惟祭司撒督、及耶何耶大子比拿雅、先知拿單、示每、利以、暨大衛之勇士、皆弗從之、

或告王曰、先知拿單至矣、拿單既至王前、俯伏於地、

眾舁耶和華匱而入、置於其所、在大衛所張之幕、大衛獻燔祭及酬恩祭於耶和華、

眾舁上帝匱入城、置於大衛所張之幕、獻燔祭及酬恩祭於上帝前、

推羅王希蘭遣使見大衛、攜香柏及石工木工而至、為之建宮室、

王居宮室、耶和華錫以綏安、得免四周諸敵之擾、王謂先知拿單曰、我居香柏之室、而上帝之匱乃在帳中、拿單曰、爾其從心所欲而行、蓋耶和華偕爾、是夜耶和華諭拿單曰、往告我僕大衛曰、耶和華云、爾為我建室以居乎、我自導以色列族出埃及、至於今日、未嘗居室、乃行於帷幕中、凡我與以色列人偕行之地、豈曾語所命牧我民以色列支派之一者曰、曷不為我建香柏之室乎、故當謂我僕大衛曰、萬軍之耶和華云、我自羊牢中、羊羣後、取爾為我民以色列之君、爾之所往、我皆與偕、絕爾諸敵、將錫爾大名、如世間大人之名、我欲為我民以色列定一區域、而栽植之、使居己所、不復遷移、不復遭惡類之窘迫、有如疇昔、及我命士師治我民以色列時、我必使爾安居、得免諸敵之擾、且耶和華告爾、耶和華必為爾建立家室、迨爾之日已盈、與列祖偕眠、我必立爾所出之裔以嗣爾、鞏固其國、彼將為我名建室、我必固其國位、歷久弗替、我將為其父、彼將為我子、彼若作惡、我必以人之杖、世人之鞭責之、惟我仁慈不離之、如昔奪之於掃羅、即我為爾所棄者、爾家爾國必堅立、爾位必堅定、至於永遠、拿單循此諸言、依此啟示、告大衛、○大衛王入坐於耶和華前、曰、主耶和華歟、我何人斯、我家若何、爾乃導我至此乎、主耶和華歟、此於爾目、猶以為小、爾又言及爾僕之家、至於久遠、主耶和華歟、此豈世人所常有乎、或作此亦為世人之例乎主耶和華歟、大衛更有何辭、蓋爾洞悉爾僕、爾行此大事、乃踐爾言、循爾志、使僕知之、耶和華上帝歟、惟爾為大、依我所聞、無可比擬、爾外無他上帝、地上何民、如爾民以色列、上帝親往贖之、以為己民、而顯己名、且為爾國、行大而可畏之事、驅逐列邦、及其諸神、於爾自埃及所贖之民前、爾立以色列民、永為爾民、爾耶和華為其上帝、耶和華上帝歟、爾論爾僕、與其家所言者、求爾堅固之、至於永遠、如言而行、願人永尊爾名為大、曰、萬軍之耶和華、乃治以色列之上帝、爾僕大衛之家、必堅立於爾前、萬軍之耶和華、以色列之上帝歟、既啟示爾僕曰、我必為爾建立家室、故爾僕敢以此而求、主耶和華歟、爾乃上帝、所言真實、以此福許爾僕、今願錫嘏於爾僕家、俾永存於爾前、主耶和華歟、爾既言之、願爾僕家永享爾福、

惟上帝之匱、大衛已自基列耶琳、舁至特備之所、因大衛在耶路撒冷為之張幕、

我父大衛、有意為以色列上帝耶和華之名建室、耶和華諭之曰、爾欲為我名建室、此意誠善、然爾不可建室、惟爾所生之子、將為我名建室、

越十二月、王遊於巴比倫王宮、曰、此非大巴比倫、我以大能大力建為王都、彰我威榮乎、

斯室荒涼、爾居板蓋之室、於斯時宜乎、

俟我為耶和華尋獲居所、為雅各之能者、尋獲帷幕兮、

耶和華遣拿單見大衛、遂詣之、曰、有二人居於一邑、一富一貧、

張帷於幕上、覆之以幬、循耶和華所諭摩西之命、以法版置之匱中、貫杠於旁、置施恩座於上、舁匱入幕、垂㡘以蔽之、循耶和華所諭摩西之命、

我尼布甲尼撒安居於我室、暢遂於我宮、

藉先知拿單名子曰耶底底亞、緣耶和華之故也、○

爾以香柏之工競美、豈得因此為王乎、爾父式飲式食、秉公行義、而獲福祉、

爾望多而得少、攜之而歸、我則噓之、萬軍之耶和華曰、此何故耶、因我室荒涼、爾各亟於己室也、
