巴兰对巴勒说：“你在这里为我筑七座祭坛，预备七头公牛和七只公绵羊。”巴勒就照巴兰的话做了。他们二人在每座坛上献上一头公牛和一只公绵羊，巴兰对巴勒说：“你留在燔祭旁边，我到前面去，也许耶和华会来见我。无论祂有什么指示，我必告诉你。”上帝果然向巴兰显现。巴兰对上帝说：“我已经预备了七座祭坛，每座祭坛上献了一头公牛和一只公绵羊。”

我们并不认为自己能够承担什么，我们能够承担全是靠上帝。

“我算什么，我的人民算什么，怎么配向你奉献？因为万物都从你而来，我们只是把从你那里得来的献给你。

“节期的第七天，你们要献上毫无残疾的公牛七头、公绵羊两只和一岁的公羊羔十四只；

对灭亡的人而言，这香气是叫人死亡的香气；对得救的人来说，这香气却是叫人得生命的香气。谁能担当这样的重任呢？

然而，我靠着上帝的帮助，到今天还能站在这里向所有尊卑老幼做见证。我讲的不外乎众先知和摩西说过要发生的事，

在七天的节期间，他要每天预备毫无残疾的公牛七头、公绵羊七只作燔祭，公山羊一只作赎罪祭。

撒母耳拿了一块石头放在米斯巴和善的中间，称之为以便以谢，说：“耶和华到如今都帮助我们。”

我要带着燔祭来到你殿中，履行我向你许的誓言，就是我在危难中许下的誓言。我要献上肥美的牲畜，以公绵羊作馨香之祭献给你，我要献上公牛和山羊。（细拉）
