大卫听说耶和华因为约柜而赐福给俄别·以东全家及其一切所有，就满心欢喜地去把上帝的约柜从俄别·以东家接进大卫城。这一次，抬耶和华约柜的人走了六步，大卫就献上公牛和肥犊为祭。大卫穿着细麻布的以弗得在耶和华面前尽情跳舞。大卫和全体以色列人在欢呼声和号角声中把耶和华的约柜迎进大卫城。耶和华的约柜进大卫城的时候，扫罗的女儿米甲从窗户看见大卫在耶和华面前又跳又舞，心里就轻视他。他们把耶和华的约柜抬来，安放在大卫准备好的帐篷里。大卫在耶和华面前献上燔祭和平安祭，然后奉万军之耶和华的名给民众祝福，还分给所有以色列人，不论男女，每人一个饼、一块肉和一个葡萄饼。众人就各自回家去了。大卫回到家为自己的家人祝福，米甲出来迎接他，说：“今天以色列王好光彩呀！居然像个粗俗之人，在臣仆和婢女面前露体！”大卫对她说：“我是在耶和华面前跳舞。祂不用你父亲和你父亲家里的人，而是选立我来治理祂的以色列子民，所以我要在祂面前欢庆。我要让自己更卑微，自视低贱，但你说的那些婢女会尊重我。”扫罗的女儿米甲终生都没有生育。

他会派一些人做千夫长、五十夫长，一些人为他耕种田地、收割庄稼，一些人制造兵器和战车的装备。

摩西对回来的千夫长和百夫长发怒，

你们要靠主常常喜乐！我再说，你们要喜乐！

犹大人和耶路撒冷人在约沙法的带领下，欢欢喜喜地返回耶路撒冷，因为耶和华使他们战胜了仇敌。他们一路弹琴、鼓瑟、吹号回到耶路撒冷，进入耶和华的殿。

所罗门把以色列的长老、各支派的首领和族长召集到耶路撒冷，准备把耶和华的约柜从大卫城锡安运上来。

因为真正受割礼的人是我们这些靠着上帝的灵敬拜、以基督耶稣为荣、不倚靠自身条件的人。

但你们现在却背弃了拯救你们脱离一切灾难和困苦的上帝，竟然对祂说，‘我们要你立一位王来统治我们。’所以你们现在就按着支派宗族站在耶和华面前吧！”

大卫因耶和华击杀乌撒而烦恼，就称那地方为毗列斯·乌撒，沿用至今。那天，大卫惧怕上帝，他说：“我怎能将上帝的约柜运到我这里？”因此，大卫没有将约柜运到大卫城，而是把它运到迦特人俄别·以东家。上帝的约柜在俄别·以东家存放了三个月。耶和华使俄别·以东家及其拥有的一切都蒙福。

你们要和儿女、仆婢、同城的利未人、寄居者及孤儿寡妇在你们的上帝耶和华选定的敬拜场所，在祂面前一起欢喜快乐。

于是，我把各支派中有智慧和受敬重的人立为你们的首领，即千夫长、百夫长、五十夫长、十夫长和其他官长，治理你们。

以法他的伯利恒啊，你在犹大各城中毫不起眼，但将有一位从你那里出来，为我统治以色列；祂的根源自亘古，来自太初。

就对左右的臣仆说：“便雅悯人啊，你们听着！难道耶西的儿子会给你们田地和葡萄园吗？他能立你们做千夫长和百夫长吗？

你们和家人要在那里，在你们的上帝耶和华面前吃喝；要为你们所做的一切蒙祂赐福而欢喜快乐。

来吧，让我们向耶和华歌唱，向拯救我们的磐石欢呼。让我们怀着感恩的心来到祂面前，向祂高唱赞美诗。

普世要向耶和华欢呼！你们要高高兴兴地事奉耶和华，到祂面前来欢唱。

以色列人、祭司、利未人，以及其余流亡归来的人都满心欢喜地为上帝的殿举行奉献礼。

要在你们的上帝耶和华选定的地方，为祂守住棚节七天；要满心欢喜，因为你们的上帝耶和华赐福你们，使你们的出产丰富、凡事顺利。

要在你们的上帝耶和华选定的地方，与儿女、仆婢及同城的利未人一起在耶和华面前吃。要为你们所做的一切，在你们的上帝耶和华面前欢喜快乐。
