有人告诉大卫王说：“耶和华因约柜的缘故赐福给俄别‧以东的家和一切属他的。”大卫就去，欢欢喜喜地将上帝的约柜从俄别‧以东家中接上来，到大卫城里。抬耶和华约柜的人走了六步，大卫就献牛与肥畜为祭。大卫穿着细麻布以弗得，在耶和华面前极力跳舞。这样，大卫和以色列全家欢呼吹角，将耶和华的约柜接了上来。耶和华的约柜进大卫城的时候，扫罗的女儿米甲从窗户里往外观看，见大卫王在耶和华面前踊跃跳舞，心里就轻视他。众人将耶和华的约柜请进去，安放在所预备的地方，就是大卫为它搭的帐幕中。大卫在耶和华面前献燔祭和平安祭。大卫献完了燔祭和平安祭，就奉万军之耶和华的名祝福百姓，并且分给以色列众人，所有的百姓，无论男女，每人一个饼，一个枣子饼，一个葡萄饼。众人就各自回家去了。大卫回去要为家里的人祝福，扫罗的女儿米甲出来迎接他，说：“以色列王今日有好大的荣耀啊！他今日在臣仆的使女眼前露体，如同一个无赖赤身露体一样。”大卫对米甲说：“这是在耶和华面前的。耶和华已拣选我，在你父和你父的全家之上，立我作耶和华百姓以色列的君王，所以我在耶和华面前跳舞，我也必更加卑微，自己看为低贱。至于你所说的那些使女，她们反而尊重我。”扫罗的女儿米甲，直到死的那日没有孩子。

他要为自己立千夫长、五十夫长；耕种他的田地，收割他的庄稼；打造他的兵器和车上的器械。

摩西向打仗回来的军官，就是千夫长和百夫长发怒。

你们要靠主常常喜乐。我再说，你们要喜乐。

因为真受割礼的，就是我们这藉着上帝的灵敬拜、以基督耶稣为夸耀、不依靠肉体的。

你们今日却厌弃救你们脱离一切灾祸和患难的上帝，对他说：‘求你立一个王治理我们。’现在你们应当按支派和宗族站在耶和华面前。”

大卫因耶和华突然冲出撞死乌撒就生气，称那地方为毗列斯‧乌撒，直到今日。那日，大卫惧怕上帝，说：“我怎能将上帝的约柜接到我这里来呢？”于是大卫不将约柜接进大卫城他自己的地方，却转送到迦特人俄别‧以东的家中。上帝的约柜停在俄别‧以东家中三个月，耶和华赐福给俄别‧以东的家和他一切所有的。

你和你的儿女、仆婢，以及住在你城里的利未人、在你中间寄居的和孤儿寡妇，都要在那里，耶和华—你上帝选择作为他名居所的地方，在耶和华—你上帝面前欢乐。

我就将你们各支派的领袖，就是有智慧、为人所知的人，立他们为领袖，作你们各支派的千夫长、百夫长、五十夫长、十夫长等官长，来管理你们。

伯利恒的以法他啊，你在犹大诸城中虽小，将来必有一位从你那里出来，在以色列中为我作掌权者；他的根源自亘古，从太初就有。

扫罗对左右侍立的臣仆说：“便雅悯人哪，听着！耶西的儿子也能把田地和葡萄园赐给你们各人吗？他能立你们各人作千夫长和百夫长吗？

在那里，你们和你们的全家都可以在耶和华—你们上帝的面前吃，并且因你们手所做的一切蒙耶和华—你的上帝赐福而欢乐。

来啊，我们要向耶和华歌唱，向拯救我们的磐石欢呼！我们要以感谢来到他面前，用诗歌向他欢呼！

普天下当向耶和华欢呼！当乐意事奉耶和华，当欢唱来到他面前！

以色列人、祭司和利未人，以及其余被掳归回的人都欢欢喜喜地为上帝的这殿行奉献礼。

在耶和华所选择的地方，你要向耶和华—你的上帝守节七日，因为耶和华—你的上帝要在你一切的收成上和你手里所做的一切赐福给你，你就非常欢乐。

必须在耶和华—你的上帝面前吃，在耶和华—你上帝所选择的地方，你和儿女、仆婢，以及住在你城里的利未人都可以吃，并要因你手所做的一切，在耶和华—你上帝面前欢乐。
