Saul died for his unfaithfulness to the Lord because he did not keep the Lord’s word. He even consulted a medium for guidance,

这样，扫罗为了他的不忠死了；因为他干犯耶和华，没有遵守耶和华的话，又因他求问招魂的妇人，

扫罗死了，因为他对耶和华不忠，不听从祂的教诲，甚至去求问灵媒，

掃羅死了，因為他對耶和華不忠，不聽從祂的教誨，甚至去求問靈媒，

掃羅死了，因為他悖逆耶和華，沒有聽從他的話，也因為他去求問那交鬼的，

這樣、掃羅死了、是為了他所犯對永恆主不忠實的罪，為了永恆主的話的緣故、就是他所沒有遵守的；也是因為他去尋問去請示交鬼的，

夫掃羅之死、因其干犯耶和華、不遵其命、且請示於憑鬼者、

掃羅犯罪、違耶和華命、不詢於耶和華、乃問於憑卜神者、故耶和華殺之、移其國祚、以畀耶西之子大闢。

如是、掃羅死、因其獲罪於主、不遵守主命、且因問交鬼之婦、而不詢主、主殺之、移其國歸耶西子大衛、

Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord; he did not keep the word of the Lord and even consulted a medium for guidance,

Saul died because he wasn’t faithful to the Lord. He didn’t obey the word of the Lord. He even asked for advice from a person who gets messages from people who have died.

So Saul died for his breach of faith. He broke faith with the Lord in that he did not keep the command of the Lord, and also consulted a medium, seeking guidance.

So Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord. He failed to obey the Lord’s command, and he even consulted a medium

So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he committed against the Lord, because of the word of the Lord which he did not keep; and also because he asked counsel of a medium, making inquiry of her,

So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against Jehovah, because of the word of Jehovah, which he kept not; and also for that he asked counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to inquire thereby,

So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD,[ even] against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking[ counsel] of[ one that had] a familiar spirit, to enquire[ of it];

So Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD and did not obey the LORD’s instructions; he even tried to conjure up underworld spirits.

So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against Yahweh, because of Yahweh’s word, which he didn’t keep; and also because he asked counsel of one who had a familiar spirit, to inquire,

For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and defiance is like wickedness and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He has rejected you as king.

“ Whoever turns to mediums or spiritists and prostitutes himself with them, I will turn against that person and cut him off from his people.

“ Do not turn to mediums or consult spiritists, or you will be defiled by them; I am Yahweh your God.

No one among you is to make his son or daughter pass through the fire, practice divination, tell fortunes, interpret omens, practice sorcery,cast spells, consult a medium or a familiar spirit, or inquire of the dead.Everyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and the Lord your God is driving out the nations before you because of these detestable things.You must be blameless before the Lord your God.Though these nations you are about to drive out listen to fortune-tellers and diviners, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do this.

Samuel said to Saul,“ You have been foolish. You have not kept the command which the Lord your God gave you. It was at this time that the Lord would have permanently established your reign over Israel,but now your reign will not endure. The Lord has found a man loyal to Him, and the Lord has appointed him as ruler over His people, because you have not done what the Lord commanded.”

Saul then said to his servants,“ Find me a woman who is a medium, so I can go and consult her.” His servants replied,“ There is a woman at En-dor who is a medium.”Saul disguised himself by putting on different clothes and set out with two of his men. They came to the woman at night, and Saul said,“ Consult a spirit for me. Bring up for me the one I tell you.”But the woman said to him,“ You surely know what Saul has done, how he has killed the mediums and spiritists in the land. Why are you setting a trap for me to get me killed?”Then Saul swore to her by the Lord:“ As surely as the Lord lives, nothing bad will happen to you because of this.”“ Who is it that you want me to bring up for you?” the woman asked.“ Bring up Samuel for me,” he answered.When the woman saw Samuel, she screamed, and then she asked Saul,“ Why did you deceive me? You are Saul!”But the king said to her,“ Don’t be afraid. What do you see?”“ I see a spirit form coming up out of the earth,” the woman answered.Then Saul asked her,“ What does he look like?”“ An old man is coming up,” she replied.“ He’s wearing a robe.” Then Saul knew that it was Samuel, and he bowed his face to the ground and paid homage.“ Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?” Samuel asked Saul.“ I’m in serious trouble,” replied Saul.“ The Philistines are fighting against me and God has turned away from me. He doesn’t answer me anymore, either through the prophets or in dreams. So I’ve called on you to tell me what I should do.”Samuel answered,“ Since the Lord has turned away from you and has become your enemy, why are you asking me?The Lord has done exactly what He said through me: The Lord has torn the kingship out of your hand and given it to your neighbor David.You did not obey the Lord and did not carry out His burning anger against Amalek; therefore the Lord has done this to you today.The Lord will also hand Israel over to the Philistines along with you. Tomorrow you and your sons will be with me, and the Lord will hand Israel’s army over to the Philistines.”Immediately, Saul fell flat on the ground. He was terrified by Samuel’s words and was also weak because he hadn’t had any food all day and all night.

When they say to you,“ Consult the spirits of the dead and the spiritists who chirp and mutter,” shouldn’t a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?

Once, as we were on our way to prayer, a slave girl met us who had a spirit of prediction. She made a large profit for her owners by fortune-telling.As she followed Paul and us she cried out,“ These men, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation, are the slaves of the Most High God.”And she did this for many days. But Paul was greatly aggravated and turning to the spirit, said,“ I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” And it came out right away.

This is what the Lord of Hosts says:‘ I witnessed what the Amalekites did to the Israelites when they opposed them along the way as they were coming out of Egypt.

A man named Simon had previously practiced sorcery in that city and astounded the Samaritan people, while claiming to be somebody great.They all paid attention to him, from the least of them to the greatest, and they said,“ This man is called the Great Power of God!”They were attentive to him because he had astounded them with his sorceries for a long time.

He made his son pass through the fire, practiced witchcraft and divination, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did a great amount of evil in the Lord’s sight, provoking Him.

“ You must not allow a sorceress to live.
