His Steadfast Love Endures Forever

1118:1 ver. 29; See Ps. 100:5Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;

for his steadfast love endures forever!

“His steadfast love endures forever.”

in the name of the Lord I cut them off!

11They surrounded me, surrounded me on every side;

in the name of the Lord I cut them off!

they went out like 118:12 [Ps. 58:9]a fire among thorns;

in the name of the Lord I cut them off!

13I was 118:13 [Ps. 140:4]pushed hard,118:13 Hebrew You (that is, the enemy) pushed me hard so that I was falling,

but the Lord helped me.

14The Lord is my strength and my song;

15Glad songs of salvation

are in the tents of the righteous:

16the right hand of the Lord exalts,

17118:17 [Hab. 1:12] I shall not die, but I shall live,

18The Lord has 118:18 [Jer. 30:11; 2 Cor. 6:9]disciplined me severely,

but he has not given me over to death.

19118:19 Isa. 26:2; [Ps. 24:7, 9]Open to me the gates of righteousness,

that I may enter through them

and give thanks to the Lord.

20This is the gate of the Lord;

118:20 Rev. 21:27; 22:14; [Isa. 35:8]the righteous shall enter through it.

21I thank you that 118:21 Ps. 116:1you have answered me

118:21 [See ver. 14above]and have become my salvation.

23This is the Lord’s doing;

it is marvelous in our eyes.

let us rejoice and be glad in it.

25Save us, we pray, O Lord!

O Lord, we pray, give us success!

27The Lord is God,

28You are my God, and I will give thanks to you;
