In God I Trust

all day long an attacker oppresses me;

2my enemies trample on me all day long,

for many attack me proudly.

3When I am afraid,

4In God, whose word I praise,

in God I trust; 56:4 Ps. 27:1; 118:6; Isa. 51:12; Heb. 13:6I shall not be afraid.

What can flesh do to me?

5All day long they injure my cause;56:5 Or they twist my words

all their thoughts are against me for evil.

6They 56:6 Ps. 59:3; 140:2; Isa. 54:15stir up strife, they 56:6 Ps. 10:8lurk;

they 56:6 Ps. 71:10watch my steps,

as they have waited for my life.

7For their crime will they escape?

8You have kept count of my tossings;56:8 Or wanderings

9Then my enemies will turn back

10In God, whose word I praise,

in the Lord, whose word I praise,

11in God I trust; 56:11 [See ver. 4above]I shall not be afraid.

What can man do to me?

12I must perform my 56:12 See Ps. 50:14vows to you, O God;

I will 56:12 See Ps. 50:14render thank offerings to you.

yes, my feet from falling,
