Isaiah 第3章
Judgment on Judah and Jerusalem
is taking away from Jerusalem and from Judah
support and supply,3:1 Hebrew staff
all 3:1 Lev. 26:26; Ezek. 4:16support of bread,
and all support of water;
23:2 2 Kgs. 24:14; Ezek. 17:13, 14the mighty man and the soldier,
the judge and the prophet,
the diviner and the elder,
3the captain of fifty
and the man of rank,
the counselor and the skillful magician
and the expert in charms.
43:4 ver. 12; Eccles. 10:16And I will make boys their princes,
and infants3:4 Or caprice shall rule over them.

every one his fellow
and every one his neighbor;
the youth will be insolent to the elder,
and the despised to the honorable.
in the house of his father, saying:
“You have a cloak;
you shall be our leader,
and this heap of ruins
shall be under your rule”;
7in that day he will speak out, saying:

in my house there is neither bread nor cloak;
you shall not make me
leader of the people.”
8For Jerusalem has stumbled,
and Judah has fallen,
because their 3:8 See Ps. 73:9-11speech and their deeds are against the Lord,

9For the look on their faces bears witness against them;
they proclaim their sin 3:9 Gen. 13:13; 18:20; Ezek. 16:46, 48, 49like Sodom;
they do not hide it.
Woe to them!

14The Lord will enter into judgment
with the 3:14 Mic. 3:1elders and princes of his people:
“It is you who 3:14 Ps. 14:4have devoured3:14 Or grazed over; compare Exodus 22:5 the vineyard,
3:14 Amos 3:10the spoil of the poor is in your houses.
by grinding the face of the poor?”
declares the Lord God of hosts.
16The Lord said:
and walk with outstretched necks,
glancing wantonly with their eyes,
mincing along as they go,
3:16 ver. 18tinkling with their feet,
17therefore the Lord 3:17 [Deut. 28:60] will strike with a scab
the heads of 3:17 [See ver. 16above]the daughters of Zion,
and the Lord will lay bare their secret parts.
18In that day the Lord will take away 3:18 ver. 16the finery of the anklets, the 3:18 [1 Pet. 3:3] headbands, and the 3:18 Judg. 8:21, 26crescents;
19the pendants, the bracelets, and the scarves;
20the 3:20 Ex. 39:28; Ezek. 24:17headdresses, the armlets, the sashes, the perfume boxes, and the amulets;
21the signet rings and 3:21 Gen. 24:47; Ezek. 16:12nose rings;
22the 3:22 [Luke 15:22]festal robes, the mantles, the cloaks, and the handbags;
23the mirrors, the linen garments, the turbans, and the veils.
24Instead of 3:24 [Esth. 2:12] perfume there will be rottenness;
and instead of a 3:24 Prov. 31:24belt, a rope;
and instead of 3:24 1 Pet. 3:3well-set hair, 3:24 ch. 15:2; 22:12; Ezek. 27:31; Amos 8:10; Mic. 1:16baldness;
and instead of a rich robe, a 3:24 ch. 15:3; Gen. 37:34; Lam. 2:10skirt of sackcloth;
and 3:24 Lev. 19:28branding instead of beauty.
25Your men shall fall by the sword
and your mighty men in battle.
