5For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit, Jn 1:33; Ac 2:4; Rm 8:9; 1Co 2:4; Gl 5:25; Ti 3:5; Rv 3:22 and with much assurance. You know what kind of men we were among you Ac 20:18; 1Th 2:10 for your benefit,

6and you became imitators of us and of the Lord when, in spite of severe persecution, you welcomed the message Heb 4:12 with joy from the Holy Spirit.

7As a result, you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia Ac 16:9 and Achaia. Ac 18:12

8For the Lord’s message rang out from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place that your faith Or in every place news of your faith Gl 2:16 in God has gone out. Therefore, we don’t need to say anything,
