  • Jeremiah 34:5 - but will die peacefully. People will burn incense in your memory, just as they did for your ancestors, the kings who preceded you. They will mourn for you, crying, “Alas, our master is dead!” This I have decreed, says the Lord.’”
  • Daniel 5:23 - For you have proudly defied the Lord of heaven and have had these cups from his Temple brought before you. You and your nobles and your wives and concubines have been drinking wine from them while praising gods of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone—gods that neither see nor hear nor know anything at all. But you have not honored the God who gives you the breath of life and controls your destiny!
  • 2 Kings 25:13 - The Babylonians broke up the bronze pillars in front of the Lord’s Temple, the bronze water carts, and the great bronze basin called the Sea, and they carried all the bronze away to Babylon.
  • Ezra 7:9 - He had arranged to leave Babylon on April 8, the first day of the new year, and he arrived at Jerusalem on August 4, for the gracious hand of his God was on him.
  • 2 Kings 24:13 - As the Lord had said beforehand, Nebuchadnezzar carried away all the treasures from the Lord’s Temple and the royal palace. He stripped away all the gold objects that King Solomon of Israel had placed in the Temple.
  • 2 Kings 24:14 - King Nebuchadnezzar took all of Jerusalem captive, including all the commanders and the best of the soldiers, craftsmen, and artisans—10,000 in all. Only the poorest people were left in the land.
  • 2 Kings 24:15 - Nebuchadnezzar led King Jehoiachin away as a captive to Babylon, along with the queen mother, his wives and officials, and all Jerusalem’s elite.
  • 2 Kings 24:16 - He also exiled 7,000 of the best troops and 1,000 craftsmen and artisans, all of whom were strong and fit for war.
  • 2 Kings 24:17 - Then the king of Babylon installed Mattaniah, Jehoiachin’s uncle, as the next king, and he changed Mattaniah’s name to Zedekiah.
  • Ezra 1:7 - King Cyrus himself brought out the articles that King Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the Lord’s Temple in Jerusalem and had placed in the temple of his own gods.
  • Ezra 1:8 - Cyrus directed Mithredath, the treasurer of Persia, to count these items and present them to Sheshbazzar, the leader of the exiles returning to Judah.
  • Daniel 5:1 - Many years later King Belshazzar gave a great feast for 1,000 of his nobles, and he drank wine with them.
  • Daniel 5:2 - While Belshazzar was drinking the wine, he gave orders to bring in the gold and silver cups that his predecessor, Nebuchadnezzar, had taken from the Temple in Jerusalem. He wanted to drink from them with his nobles, his wives, and his concubines.
  • Daniel 5:3 - So they brought these gold cups taken from the Temple, the house of God in Jerusalem, and the king and his nobles, his wives, and his concubines drank from them.
  • Daniel 5:4 - While they drank from them they praised their idols made of gold, silver, bronze, iron, wood, and stone.
  • Ezra 5:13 - However, King Cyrus of Babylon, during the first year of his reign, issued a decree that the Temple of God should be rebuilt.
  • Ezra 5:14 - King Cyrus returned the gold and silver cups that Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the Temple of God in Jerusalem and had placed in the temple of Babylon. These cups were taken from that temple and presented to a man named Sheshbazzar, whom King Cyrus appointed as governor of Judah.
  • Ezra 5:15 - The king instructed him to return the cups to their place in Jerusalem and to rebuild the Temple of God there on its original site.
  • Ezra 1:11 - In all, there were 5,400 articles of gold and silver. Sheshbazzar brought all of these along when the exiles went from Babylon to Jerusalem.
  • Proverbs 21:30 - No human wisdom or understanding or plan can stand against the Lord.
  • Jeremiah 32:5 - He will take Zedekiah to Babylon, and I will deal with him there,’ says the Lord. ‘If you fight against the Babylonians, you will never succeed.’”
  • Jeremiah 25:11 - This entire land will become a desolate wasteland. Israel and her neighboring lands will serve the king of Babylon for seventy years.
  • Jeremiah 25:12 - “Then, after the seventy years of captivity are over, I will punish the king of Babylon and his people for their sins,” says the Lord. “I will make the country of the Babylonians a wasteland forever.
  • Ezra 7:19 - “But as for the cups we are entrusting to you for the service of the Temple of your God, deliver them all to the God of Jerusalem.
  • Jeremiah 29:10 - This is what the Lord says: “You will be in Babylon for seventy years. But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again.
