  • Judges 16:15 - Then Delilah pouted, “How can you tell me, ‘I love you,’ when you don’t share your secrets with me? You’ve made fun of me three times now, and you still haven’t told me what makes you so strong!”
  • Judges 16:16 - She tormented him with her nagging day after day until he was sick to death of it.
  • Judges 16:17 - Finally, Samson shared his secret with her. “My hair has never been cut,” he confessed, “for I was dedicated to God as a Nazirite from birth. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as anyone else.”
  • Judges 16:18 - Delilah realized he had finally told her the truth, so she sent for the Philistine rulers. “Come back one more time,” she said, “for he has finally told me his secret.” So the Philistine rulers returned with the money in their hands.
  • Judges 16:19 - Delilah lulled Samson to sleep with his head in her lap, and then she called in a man to shave off the seven locks of his hair. In this way she began to bring him down, and his strength left him.
  • Judges 16:20 - Then she cried out, “Samson! The Philistines have come to capture you!” When he woke up, he thought, “I will do as before and shake myself free.” But he didn’t realize the Lord had left him.
  • Ephesians 5:3 - Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people.
  • Ephesians 5:4 - Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God.
  • 1 Kings 21:5 - “What’s the matter?” his wife Jezebel asked him. “What’s made you so upset that you’re not eating?”
  • 1 Kings 21:6 - “I asked Naboth to sell me his vineyard or trade it, but he refused!” Ahab told her.
  • 1 Kings 21:7 - “Are you the king of Israel or not?” Jezebel demanded. “Get up and eat something, and don’t worry about it. I’ll get you Naboth’s vineyard!”
  • 1 Kings 21:8 - So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name, sealed them with his seal, and sent them to the elders and other leaders of the town where Naboth lived.
  • 1 Kings 21:9 - In her letters she commanded: “Call the citizens together for a time of fasting, and give Naboth a place of honor.
  • 1 Kings 21:10 - And then seat two scoundrels across from him who will accuse him of cursing God and the king. Then take him out and stone him to death.”
  • 1 Kings 21:11 - So the elders and other town leaders followed the instructions Jezebel had written in the letters.
  • 1 Kings 21:12 - They called for a fast and put Naboth at a prominent place before the people.
  • 1 Kings 21:13 - Then the two scoundrels came and sat down across from him. And they accused Naboth before all the people, saying, “He cursed God and the king.” So he was dragged outside the town and stoned to death.
  • 1 Kings 21:14 - The town leaders then sent word to Jezebel, “Naboth has been stoned to death.”
  • 1 Kings 21:15 - When Jezebel heard the news, she said to Ahab, “You know the vineyard Naboth wouldn’t sell you? Well, you can have it now! He’s dead!”
  • Revelation 19:20 - And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beast—miracles that deceived all who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue. Both the beast and his false prophet were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
  • Mark 14:55 - Inside, the leading priests and the entire high council were trying to find evidence against Jesus, so they could put him to death. But they couldn’t find any.
  • Mark 14:56 - Many false witnesses spoke against him, but they contradicted each other.
  • Mark 14:57 - Finally, some men stood up and gave this false testimony:
  • 2 Chronicles 10:13 - But Rehoboam spoke harshly to them, for he rejected the advice of the older counselors
  • 2 Chronicles 10:14 - and followed the counsel of his younger advisers. He told the people, “My father laid heavy burdens on you, but I’m going to make them even heavier! My father beat you with whips, but I will beat you with scorpions!”
  • 2 Chronicles 10:15 - So the king paid no attention to the people. This turn of events was the will of God, for it fulfilled the Lord’s message to Jeroboam son of Nebat through the prophet Ahijah from Shiloh.
  • 2 Chronicles 10:16 - When all Israel realized that the king had refused to listen to them, they responded, “Down with the dynasty of David! We have no interest in the son of Jesse. Back to your homes, O Israel! Look out for your own house, O David!” So all the people of Israel returned home.
  • 2 Samuel 13:26 - “Well, then,” Absalom said, “if you can’t come, how about sending my brother Amnon with us?” “Why Amnon?” the king asked.
  • 2 Samuel 13:27 - But Absalom kept on pressing the king until he finally agreed to let all his sons attend, including Amnon. So Absalom prepared a feast fit for a king.
  • 2 Samuel 13:28 - Absalom told his men, “Wait until Amnon gets drunk; then at my signal, kill him! Don’t be afraid. I’m the one who has given the command. Take courage and do it!”
  • 2 Samuel 13:29 - So at Absalom’s signal they murdered Amnon. Then the other sons of the king jumped on their mules and fled.
  • 2 Samuel 15:2 - He got up early every morning and went out to the gate of the city. When people brought a case to the king for judgment, Absalom would ask where in Israel they were from, and they would tell him their tribe.
  • 2 Samuel 15:3 - Then Absalom would say, “You’ve really got a strong case here! It’s too bad the king doesn’t have anyone to hear it.
  • 2 Samuel 15:4 - I wish I were the judge. Then everyone could bring their cases to me for judgment, and I would give them justice!”
  • 2 Samuel 15:5 - When people tried to bow before him, Absalom wouldn’t let them. Instead, he took them by the hand and kissed them.
  • 2 Samuel 15:6 - Absalom did this with everyone who came to the king for judgment, and so he stole the hearts of all the people of Israel.
  • Isaiah 30:27 - Look! The Lord is coming from far away, burning with anger, surrounded by thick, rising smoke. His lips are filled with fury; his words consume like fire.
  • Proverbs 6:19 - a false witness who pours out lies, a person who sows discord in a family.
  • Numbers 31:16 - “These are the very ones who followed Balaam’s advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the Lord at Mount Peor. They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the Lord’s people.
  • 2 Thessalonians 2:9 - This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles.
  • 2 Thessalonians 2:10 - He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.
  • 2 Thessalonians 2:11 - So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies.
  • 2 Thessalonians 2:12 - Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.
  • Proverbs 1:10 - My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them!
  • Proverbs 1:11 - They may say, “Come and join us. Let’s hide and kill someone! Just for fun, let’s ambush the innocent!
  • Proverbs 1:12 - Let’s swallow them alive, like the grave ; let’s swallow them whole, like those who go down to the pit of death.
  • Proverbs 1:13 - Think of the great things we’ll get! We’ll fill our houses with all the stuff we take.
  • Proverbs 1:14 - Come, throw in your lot with us; we’ll all share the loot.”
  • Titus 1:11 - They must be silenced, because they are turning whole families away from the truth by their false teaching. And they do it only for money.
  • Revelation 13:14 - And with all the miracles he was allowed to perform on behalf of the first beast, he deceived all the people who belong to this world. He ordered the people to make a great statue of the first beast, who was fatally wounded and then came back to life.
  • Jeremiah 20:10 - I have heard the many rumors about me. They call me “The Man Who Lives in Terror.” They threaten, “If you say anything, we will report it.” Even my old friends are watching me, waiting for a fatal slip. “He will trap himself,” they say, “and then we will get our revenge on him.”
  • Jeremiah 28:16 - Therefore, this is what the Lord says: ‘You must die. Your life will end this very year because you have rebelled against the Lord.’”
  • 3 John 1:10 - When I come, I will report some of the things he is doing and the evil accusations he is making against us. Not only does he refuse to welcome the traveling teachers, he also tells others not to help them. And when they do help, he puts them out of the church.
  • James 2:7 - Aren’t they the ones who slander Jesus Christ, whose noble name you bear?
  • Jude 1:8 - In the same way, these people—who claim authority from their dreams—live immoral lives, defy authority, and scoff at supernatural beings.
  • Jude 1:9 - But even Michael, one of the mightiest of the angels, did not dare accuse the devil of blasphemy, but simply said, “The Lord rebuke you!” (This took place when Michael was arguing with the devil about Moses’ body.)
  • Jude 1:10 - But these people scoff at things they do not understand. Like unthinking animals, they do whatever their instincts tell them, and so they bring about their own destruction.
  • Matthew 12:32 - Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come.
  • Matthew 12:33 - “A tree is identified by its fruit. If a tree is good, its fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad.
  • Matthew 12:34 - You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say.

  • Matthew 15:11 - It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.”

  • Matthew 15:15 - Then Peter said to Jesus, “Explain to us the parable that says people aren’t defiled by what they eat.”
  • Matthew 15:16 - “Don’t you understand yet?” Jesus asked.
  • Matthew 15:17 - “Anything you eat passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.
  • Matthew 15:18 - But the words you speak come from the heart—that’s what defiles you.
  • Matthew 15:19 - For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander.
  • Matthew 15:20 - These are what defile you. Eating with unwashed hands will never defile you.”
  • Colossians 3:8 - But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language.
  • Colossians 3:9 - Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds.
  • Mark 7:20 - And then he added, “It is what comes from inside that defiles you.
  • Mark 7:21 - For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder,

  • Psalms 120:2 - Rescue me, O Lord, from liars and from all deceitful people.
  • Psalms 120:3 - O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment?
