  • Daniel 5:3 - So they brought these gold cups taken from the Temple, the house of God in Jerusalem, and the king and his nobles, his wives, and his concubines drank from them.
  • Daniel 5:4 - While they drank from them they praised their idols made of gold, silver, bronze, iron, wood, and stone.
  • Ezekiel 26:13 - I will stop the music of your songs. No more will the sound of harps be heard among your people.
  • Isaiah 21:4 - My mind reels and my heart races. I longed for evening to come, but now I am terrified of the dark.
  • Isaiah 21:5 - Look! They are preparing a great feast. They are spreading rugs for people to sit on. Everyone is eating and drinking. But quick! Grab your shields and prepare for battle. You are being attacked!
  • Ezekiel 32:19 - Say to them, ‘O Egypt, are you lovelier than the other nations? No! So go down to the pit and lie there among the outcasts. ’
  • Ezekiel 32:20 - The Egyptians will fall with the many who have died by the sword, for the sword is drawn against them. Egypt and its hordes will be dragged away to their judgment.
  • Job 21:11 - They let their children frisk about like lambs. Their little ones skip and dance.
  • Job 21:12 - They sing with tambourine and harp. They celebrate to the sound of the flute.
  • Job 21:13 - They spend their days in prosperity, then go down to the grave in peace.
  • Job 21:14 - And yet they say to God, ‘Go away. We want no part of you and your ways.
  • Job 21:15 - Who is the Almighty, and why should we obey him? What good will it do us to pray?’
  • Isaiah 22:2 - The whole city is in a terrible uproar. What do I see in this reveling city? Bodies are lying everywhere, killed not in battle but by famine and disease.
  • Job 24:19 - The grave consumes sinners just as drought and heat consume snow.
  • Job 24:20 - Their own mothers will forget them. Maggots will find them sweet to eat. No one will remember them. Wicked people are broken like a tree in the storm.
  • Daniel 5:25 - “This is the message that was written: Mene, Mene, Tekel, and Parsin.
  • Daniel 5:26 - This is what these words mean: Mene means ‘numbered’—God has numbered the days of your reign and has brought it to an end.
  • Daniel 5:27 - Tekel means ‘weighed’—you have been weighed on the balances and have not measured up.
  • Daniel 5:28 - Parsin means ‘divided’—your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”
  • Daniel 5:29 - Then at Belshazzar’s command, Daniel was dressed in purple robes, a gold chain was hung around his neck, and he was proclaimed the third highest ruler in the kingdom.
  • Daniel 5:30 - That very night Belshazzar, the Babylonian king, was killed.
