  • Genesis 15:13 - Then the Lord said to him, “You can be sure of what I am about to tell you. For 400 years, your family who comes after you will be strangers in another country. They will become slaves there and will be treated badly.
  • Genesis 15:14 - But I will punish the nation that makes them slaves. After that, they will leave with many possessions.
  • Genesis 15:15 - But you will die in peace. You will join the members of your family who have already died. And you will be buried when you are very old.
  • Genesis 15:16 - Your children’s grandchildren will come back here. That’s because the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached the point where I must punish them.”
  • Genesis 15:17 - The sun set and it became dark. Then a burning torch and a pot filled with smoking coals appeared. They passed between the pieces of the animals that had been cut in two.
  • Isaiah 43:2 - You will pass through deep waters. But I will be with you. You will pass through the rivers. But their waters will not sweep over you. You will walk through fire. But you will not be burned. The flames will not harm you.
  • Deuteronomy 4:20 - Egypt was like a furnace that melts iron down and makes it pure. But the Lord took you and brought you out of Egypt. He wanted you to be his very own people. And that’s exactly what you are.
  • Isaiah 63:9 - When they suffered, he suffered with them. He sent his angel to save them. He set them free because he is loving and kind. He lifted them up and carried them. He did it again and again in days long ago.
  • John 1:14 - The Word became a human being. He made his home with us. We have seen his glory. It is the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father. And the Word was full of grace and truth.
  • Genesis 48:16 - He is the Angel who has saved me from all harm. May he bless these boys. May they be called by my name. May they also be called by the names of my grandfather Abraham and my father Isaac. And may the number of them greatly increase on the earth.”
  • Genesis 16:7 - The angel of the Lord found Hagar near a spring of water in the desert. The spring was beside the road to Shur.
  • Genesis 16:8 - The angel said, “Hagar, you are Sarai’s slave. Where have you come from? Where are you going?” “I’m running away from my owner Sarai,” she answered.
  • Genesis 16:9 - Then the angel of the Lord told her, “Go back to the woman who owns you. Obey her.”
  • Genesis 16:10 - The angel continued, “I will give you and your family many children. There will be more of them than anyone can count.”
  • Genesis 16:11 - The angel of the Lord also said to her, “You are now pregnant and will have a son. You will name him Ishmael, because the Lord has heard about your suffering.
  • Genesis 16:12 - He will be like a wild donkey. He will use his power against everyone, and everyone will be against him. He will not get along with any of his family.”
  • Genesis 16:13 - She gave a name to the Lord who spoke to her. She called him “You are the God who sees me.” That’s because she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”
  • Isaiah 53:10 - The Lord says, “It was my plan to crush him and cause him to suffer. I made his life an offering to pay for sin. But he will see all his children after him. In fact, he will continue to live. My plan will be brought about through him.
  • Isaiah 53:11 - After he has suffered, he will see the light of life. And he will be satisfied. My godly servant will make many people godly because of what he will accomplish. He will be punished for their sins.
  • Exodus 3:16 - “Go. Gather the elders of Israel together. Say to them, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, appeared to me. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God said, “I have watched over you. I have seen what the Egyptians have done to you.
  • Zechariah 13:7 - “My sword, wake up! Attack my shepherd! Attack the man who is close to me,” announces the Lord who rules over all. “Strike down the shepherd. Then the sheep will be scattered. And I will turn my hand against their little ones.
  • Daniel 3:27 - The royal rulers, high officials, governors and advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire hadn’t harmed their bodies. Not one hair on their heads was burned. Their robes weren’t burned either. And they didn’t even smell like smoke.
  • Hosea 12:4 - At Peniel he struggled with the angel and won. Jacob wept and begged for his blessing. God also met with him at Bethel. He talked with him there.
  • Hosea 12:5 - He is the Lord God who rules over all. His name is the Lord.
  • Romans 8:3 - The written law was made weak by the power of sin. But God did what the written law could not do. He made his Son to be like those who live under the power of sin. God sent him to be an offering for sin. Jesus suffered God’s judgment against our sin.
  • Exodus 3:4 - The Lord saw that Moses had gone over to look. So God spoke to him from inside the bush. He called out, “Moses! Moses!” “Here I am,” Moses said.
  • Exodus 3:5 - “Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals. The place you are standing on is holy ground.”
  • Exodus 3:6 - He continued, “I am the God of your father. I am the God of Abraham. I am the God of Isaac. And I am the God of Jacob.” When Moses heard that, he turned his face away. He was afraid to look at God.
  • Exodus 3:7 - The Lord said, “I have seen how my people are suffering in Egypt. I have heard them cry out because of their slave drivers. I am concerned about their suffering.
  • Exodus 3:8 - So I have come down to save them from the Egyptians. I will bring them up out of that land. I will bring them into a good land. It has a lot of room. It is a land that has plenty of milk and honey. The Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites live there.
  • Exodus 3:9 - And now Israel’s cry for help has reached me. I have seen how badly the Egyptians are treating them.
  • Exodus 3:10 - So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh. I want you to bring the Israelites out of Egypt. They are my people.”
  • Psalm 66:12 - You let our enemies ride their chariots over our heads. We went through fire and water. But you brought us to a place where we have everything we need.
  • Genesis 22:15 - The angel of the Lord called out to Abraham from heaven a second time.
  • Genesis 22:16 - He said, “I am giving you my word that I will bless you. I will bless you because of what you have done,” announces the Lord. “You have not held back your son, your only son.
  • Malachi 3:1 - The Lord who rules over all says, “I will send my messenger. He will prepare my way for me. Then suddenly the Lord you are looking for will come to his temple. The messenger of the covenant will come. He is the one you long for.”
  • Mark 12:26 - What about the dead rising? Haven’t you read in the Book of Moses the story of the burning bush? God said to Moses, ‘I am the God of Abraham. I am the God of Isaac. And I am the God of Jacob.’ ( Exodus 3:6 )
  • Luke 20:37 - Remember the story of Moses and the burning bush. Even Moses showed that the dead rise. The Lord said to him, ‘I am the God of Abraham. I am the God of Isaac. And I am the God of Jacob.’ ( Exodus 3:6 )
  • Deuteronomy 33:16 - May he bless it with the best gifts that fill the earth. May he bless it with the favor of the God who spoke out of the burning bush. Let all these blessings rest on the head of Joseph. Let them rest on the head of the one who is prince among his brothers.
  • 2 Corinthians 1:8 - Brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the hard times we had in Asia Minor. We were having a lot of trouble. It was far more than we could stand. We even thought we were going to die.
  • 2 Corinthians 1:9 - In fact, we felt as if we were under the sentence of death. But that happened so that we would not depend on ourselves but on God. He raises the dead to life.
  • 2 Corinthians 1:10 - God has saved us from deadly dangers. And he will continue to do it. We have put our hope in him. He will continue to save us.
  • Acts 7:30 - “Forty years passed. Then an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush. This happened in the desert near Mount Sinai.
  • Acts 7:31 - When Moses saw the bush, he was amazed. He went over for a closer look. There he heard the Lord say,
  • Acts 7:32 - ‘I am the God of your fathers. I am the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.’ ( Exodus 3:6 ) Moses shook with fear. He didn’t dare to look.
  • Acts 7:33 - “Then the Lord said to him, ‘Take off your sandals. You must do this because the place where you are standing is holy ground.
  • Acts 7:34 - I have seen my people beaten down in Egypt. I have heard their groans. I have come down to set them free. Now come. I will send you back to Egypt.’ ( Exodus 3:5 , 7 , 8 , 10 )
  • Acts 7:35 - “This is the same Moses the two men of Israel would not accept. They had said, ‘Who made you ruler and judge?’ But God himself sent Moses to rule the people of Israel and set them free. He spoke to Moses through an angel. The angel had appeared to him in the bush.
