  • Hebrews 10:38 - And, “The one who is right with God will live by faith. And I am not pleased with the one who pulls back.” ( Habakkuk 2:3 , 4 )
  • 1 Kings 9:6 - “But suppose all of you turn away from me. Or your children turn away from me. You refuse to obey the commands and rules I have given you. And you go off to serve other gods and worship them.

  • Jonah 3:10 - God saw what they did. He saw that they stopped doing what was evil. So he took pity on them. He didn’t destroy them as he had said he would.
  • Jeremiah 18:7 - Suppose I announce that something will happen to a nation or kingdom. Suppose I announce that it will be pulled up by the roots. And I announce that it will be torn down and destroyed.
  • Jeremiah 18:8 - But suppose the nation I warned turns away from its sins. Then I will not do what I said I would. I will not bring trouble on it as I had planned.
  • Jeremiah 18:9 - But suppose I announce that a nation or kingdom is going to be built up and planted.
  • Jeremiah 18:10 - And then it does what is evil in my eyes. It does not obey me. Then I will think again about the good things I had wanted to do for it.
  • Psalm 125:5 - But the Lord will drive out those who have taken crooked paths. He will drive them out with those who do evil things. May Israel enjoy peace.
  • Jonah 4:2 - He prayed to the Lord. Here is what Jonah said to him. “Lord, isn’t this exactly what I thought would happen when I was still at home? That is what I tried to prevent by running away to Tarshish. I knew that you are gracious. You are tender and kind. You are slow to get angry. You are full of love. You are a God who takes pity on people. You don’t want to destroy them.
  • Amos 7:3 - So the Lord had pity on them. “I will let them continue for now,” he said.
  • Jeremiah 9:1 - I wish my head were a spring of water! I wish my eyes were a fountain of tears! I would weep day and night for my people who have been killed.
  • 1 Samuel 12:23 - I would never sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you. I’ll teach you to live in a way that is good and right.
