  • Philippians 4:19 - And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
  • Luke 14:25 - Now large crowds were going along with Jesus; and He turned and said to them,
  • Luke 14:26 - “If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life [in the sense of indifference to or relative disregard for them in comparison with his attitude toward God]—he cannot be My disciple.
  • Luke 14:27 - Whoever does not carry his own cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow after Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me] cannot be My disciple.
  • Luke 14:28 - For which one of you, when he wants to build a watchtower [for his guards], does not first sit down and calculate the cost, to see if he has enough to finish it?
  • Luke 14:29 - Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is unable to finish [the building], all who see it will begin to ridicule him,
  • Luke 14:30 - saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish!’
  • Luke 14:31 - Or what king, when he sets out to meet another king in battle, will not first sit down and consider whether he is strong enough with ten thousand men to encounter the one who is coming against him with twenty thousand?
  • Luke 14:32 - Or else [if he feels he is not powerful enough], while the other [king] is still a far distance away, he sends an envoy and asks for terms of peace.
  • Luke 14:33 - So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not [carefully consider the cost and then for My sake] give up all his own possessions.
  • Colossians 3:24 - knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [greatest] reward. It is the Lord Christ whom you [actually] serve.
  • Ephesians 6:2 - Honor [esteem, value as precious] your father and your mother [and be respectful to them]—this is the first commandment with a promise—
  • Ephesians 6:3 - so that it may be well with you, and that you may have a long life on the earth.
  • 2 Timothy 1:16 - The Lord grant mercy to the family of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and showed me kindness [comforting and reviving me like fresh air] and he was not ashamed of my chains [for Christ’s sake];

  • Joshua 24:18 - The Lord drove all the peoples out from before us, even the Amorites who lived in the land. We also will serve the Lord, for He is our God.”
  • Joshua 24:19 - Then Joshua said to the people, “You will not be able to serve the Lord [if you serve any other gods], for He is a holy God; He is a jealous God [demanding what is rightfully and uniquely His]. He will not forgive your transgression [of His law] or your sins.
  • Joshua 24:20 - If you do abandon (reject) the Lord and serve foreign gods, then He will turn and do you harm and consume and destroy you after He has done you good.”
  • Joshua 24:21 - The people said to Joshua, “No, but we will serve [only] the Lord.”
  • Joshua 24:22 - Joshua then said to the people, “You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen for yourselves the Lord, to serve Him.” And they said, “We are witnesses.”
  • Joshua 24:23 - “Now then, remove the foreign gods which are among you, and incline your hearts toward the Lord, the God of Israel.”
  • Joshua 24:24 - The people said to Joshua, “We will serve the Lord our God and we will listen to and obey His voice.”
  • Joshua 24:25 - So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and made for them a statute and an ordinance at Shechem.
  • Joshua 24:26 - And Joshua wrote these words in the Book of the Law of God. Then he took a large stone and set it up there under the oak that was in [the courtyard of] the sanctuary of the Lord.
  • Joshua 24:27 - Joshua then said to all the people, “Look, this stone shall serve as a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of the Lord which He spoke to us; so it shall be a witness against you, so that [afterward] you do not deny your God.”
  • Joshua 24:28 - Then Joshua sent the people away, each to [the territory of] his inheritance.
  • Colossians 3:18 - Wives, be subject to your husbands [out of respect for their position as protector, and their accountability to God], as is proper and fitting in the Lord.
  • Ephesians 5:22 - Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as [a service] to the Lord.
