  • Isaiah 34:14 - The desert creatures will meet hyenas, and one wild goat will call to another. Indeed, the night birds will stay there and will find a resting place.
  • Isaiah 34:15 - Sand partridges will make their nests there; they will lay and hatch their eggs and will gather their broods under their shadows. Indeed, the birds of prey will gather there, each with its mate.
  • Isaiah 34:16 - Search and read the scroll of the Lord: Not one of them will be missing, none will be lacking its mate, because he has ordered it by my mouth, and he will gather them by his Spirit.
  • Isaiah 34:17 - He has cast the lot for them; his hand allotted their portion with a measuring line. They will possess it forever; they will dwell in it from generation to generation.
  • Jeremiah 50:38 - A drought will come on her waters, and they will be dried up. For it is a land of carved images, and they go mad because of terrifying things.
  • Jeremiah 50:39 - Therefore, desert creatures will live with hyenas, and ostriches will also live in her. It will never again be inhabited or lived in through all generations.
  • Jeremiah 50:40 - Just as God demolished Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns  — this is the Lord’s declaration — so no one will live there; no human being will stay in it even temporarily as a temporary resident.
  • Jeremiah 25:12 - When the seventy years are completed, I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation’ — this is the Lord’s declaration — ‘the land of the Chaldeans, for their iniquity, and I will make it a ruin forever.
  • Lamentations 2:15 - All who pass by scornfully clap their hands at you. They hiss and shake their heads at Daughter Jerusalem: Is this the city that was called the perfection of beauty, the joy of the whole earth? פ Pe
  • Lamentations 2:16 - All your enemies open their mouths against you. They hiss and gnash their teeth, saying, “We have swallowed her up. This is the day we have waited for! We have lived to see it.” ע Ayin
  • Zephaniah 2:15 - This is the jubilant city that lives in security, that says to herself: I exist, and there is no one else. What a desolation she has become, a place for wild animals to lie down! Everyone who passes by her scoffs and shakes his fist.
  • Jeremiah 51:29 - The earth quakes and trembles because the Lord’s intentions against Babylon stand: to make the land of Babylon a desolation, without inhabitant.
  • Jeremiah 50:23 - How the hammer of the whole earth is cut down and smashed! What a horror Babylon has become among the nations!
  • Jeremiah 50:24 - Babylon, I laid a trap for you, and you were caught, but you did not even know it. You were found and captured because you pitted yourself against the Lord.
  • Jeremiah 50:25 - The Lord opened his armory and brought out his weapons of wrath, because it is a task of the Lord God of Armies in the land of the Chaldeans.
  • Jeremiah 50:26 - Come against her from the most distant places. Open her granaries; pile her up like mounds of grain and completely destroy her. Leave her no survivors.
  • Jeremiah 18:16 - They have made their land a horror, a perpetual object of scorn; all who pass by it will be appalled and shake their heads.
  • Jeremiah 25:9 - I am going to send for all the families of the north’  — this is the Lord’s declaration — ‘and send for my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and I will bring them against this land, against its residents, and against all these surrounding nations, and I will completely destroy them and make them an example of horror and scorn, and ruins forever.
  • Revelation 18:2 - He called out in a mighty voice: It has fallen, Babylon the Great has fallen! She has become a home for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, and a haunt for every unclean and despicable beast.
