  • Nehemiah 13:19 - When evening shadows fell on the gates of Jerusalem before the Sabbath, I ordered the doors to be shut and not opened until the Sabbath was over. I stationed some of my own men at the gates so that no load could be brought in on the Sabbath day.
  • Nehemiah 13:20 - Once or twice the merchants and sellers of all kinds of goods spent the night outside Jerusalem.
  • Nehemiah 13:21 - But I warned them and said, “Why do you spend the night by the wall? If you do this again, I will arrest you.” From that time on they no longer came on the Sabbath.
  • Numbers 15:32 - While the Israelites were in the wilderness, a man was found gathering wood on the Sabbath day.
  • Numbers 15:33 - Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly,
  • Numbers 15:34 - and they kept him in custody, because it was not clear what should be done to him.
  • Numbers 15:35 - Then the Lord said to Moses, “The man must die. The whole assembly must stone him outside the camp.”
  • Numbers 15:36 - So the assembly took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the Lord commanded Moses.
