  • Zephaniah 3:2 - She has not obeyed; she has not accepted discipline. She has not trusted in the Lord; she has not drawn near to her God.
  • Zephaniah 3:3 - The princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are wolves of the night, which leave nothing for the morning.
  • Zephaniah 3:4 - Her prophets are reckless  — treacherous men. Her priests profane the sanctuary; they do violence to instruction.
  • Zephaniah 3:5 - The righteous Lord is in her; he does no wrong. He applies his justice morning by morning; he does not fail at dawn, yet the one who does wrong knows no shame.
  • Numbers 35:33 - “Do not defile the land where you live, for bloodshed defiles the land, and there can be no atonement for the land because of the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of the person who shed it.
  • Numbers 35:34 - Do not make the land unclean where you live and where I dwell; for I, the Lord, reside among the Israelites.”
  • Jeremiah 17:18 - Let my persecutors be put to shame, but don’t let me be put to shame. Let them be terrified, but don’t let me be terrified. Bring on them the day of disaster; shatter them with total destruction.
  • Revelation 18:6 - Pay her back the way she also paid, and double it according to her works. In the cup in which she mixed, mix a double portion for her.
  • Ezekiel 11:21 - But as for those whose hearts pursue their desire for abhorrent acts and detestable practices, I will bring their conduct down on their own heads.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.
  • Isaiah 40:2 - “Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and announce to her that her time of hard service is over, her iniquity has been pardoned, and she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.”
