- 1 Corinthians 15:55 - “Death, where is the victory you thought you had? Death, where is your sting?” ( Hosea 13:14 )
- 1 Corinthians 15:56 - The sting of death is sin. And the power of sin is the law.
- 1 Corinthians 15:57 - But let us give thanks to God! He gives us the victory because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done.
- Acts 19:2 - He asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you became believers?” “No,” they answered. “We haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
- Acts 19:3 - So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied.
- Acts 19:4 - Paul said, “John baptized people, calling them to turn away from their sins. He told them to believe in the one who was coming after him. Jesus is that one.”
- Acts 19:5 - After hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
- Acts 19:6 - Paul placed his hands on them. Then the Holy Spirit came on them. They spoke in languages they had not known before. They also prophesied.
- Ezekiel 37:1 - The power of the Lord came on me. His Spirit brought me away from my home. He put me down in the middle of a valley. It was full of bones.
- Ezekiel 37:2 - He led me back and forth among them. I saw a huge number of bones in the valley. The bones were very dry.
- Ezekiel 37:3 - The Lord asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Lord and King, you are the only one who knows.”
- Ezekiel 37:4 - Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones. Tell them, ‘Dry bones, listen to the Lord’s message.
- Ezekiel 37:5 - The Lord and King speaks to you. He says, “I will put breath in you. Then you will come to life again.
- Ezekiel 37:6 - I will attach tendons to you. I will put flesh on you. I will cover you with skin. So I will put breath in you. And you will come to life again. Then you will know that I am the Lord.” ’ ”
- Ezekiel 37:7 - So I prophesied just as the Lord commanded me to. As I was prophesying, I heard a noise. It was a rattling sound. The bones came together. One bone connected itself to another.
- Ezekiel 37:8 - I saw tendons and flesh appear on them. Skin covered them. But there was no breath in them.
- Ezekiel 37:9 - Then the Lord said to me, “Prophesy to the breath. Prophesy, son of man. Tell it, ‘The Lord and King says, “Breath, come from all four directions. Go into these people who have been killed. Then they can live.” ’ ”
- Ezekiel 37:10 - So I prophesied just as he commanded me to. And breath entered them. Then they came to life again. They stood up on their feet. They were like a huge army.
- Ezekiel 37:11 - Then the Lord said to me, “Son of man, these bones stand for all the people of Israel. The people say, ‘Our bones are dried up. We’ve lost all hope. We are destroyed.’
- Ezekiel 37:12 - So prophesy. Tell them, ‘The Lord and King says, “My people, I am going to open up your graves. I am going to bring you out of them. I will take you back to the land of Israel.
- Ezekiel 37:13 - So I will open up your graves and bring you out of them. Then you will know that I am the Lord. You are my people.
- Ezekiel 37:14 - I will put my Spirit in you. And you will live again. I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I have spoken. I have done it,” announces the Lord.’ ”
- Acts 2:38 - Peter replied, “All of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then your sins will be forgiven. You will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
- John 1:33 - I myself did not know him. But the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘You will see the Spirit come down and remain on someone. He is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’
- Acts 10:47 - “Surely no one can keep these people from being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.”
- John 3:25 - Some of John’s disciples and a certain Jew began to argue. They argued about special washings to make people “clean.”
- John 3:26 - They came to John and here is what they said to him. “Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan River is baptizing people. He is the one you told us about. Everyone is going to him.”
- Daniel 12:2 - Many people who lie dead in their graves will wake up. Some will rise up to life that will never end. Others will rise up to shame that will never end.
- Acts 8:12 - But Philip announced the good news of God’s kingdom and the name of Jesus Christ. So men and women believed and were baptized.
- Acts 8:13 - Simon himself believed and was baptized. He followed Philip everywhere. He was amazed by the great signs and miracles he saw.
- Acts 8:14 - The apostles in Jerusalem heard that people in Samaria had accepted God’s word. So they sent Peter and John to Samaria.
- Acts 8:15 - When they arrived there, they prayed for the new believers. They prayed that they would receive the Holy Spirit.
- Acts 8:16 - The Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
- Acts 8:17 - Then Peter and John placed their hands on them. And they received the Holy Spirit.
- Acts 8:18 - Simon watched as the apostles placed their hands on them. He saw that the Spirit was given to them. So he offered money to Peter and John.
- Matthew 20:22 - “You don’t know what you’re asking for,” Jesus said to them. “Can you drink the cup of suffering I am going to drink?” “We can,” they answered.
- Matthew 20:23 - Jesus said to them, “You will certainly drink from my cup. But it is not for me to say who will sit at my right or left hand. These places belong to those my Father has prepared them for.”
- Acts 24:25 - Paul talked about how to live a godly life. He talked about how people should control themselves. He also talked about the time when God will judge everyone. Then Felix became afraid. “That’s enough for now!” he said. “You may leave. When I find the time, I will send for you.”
- Acts 6:6 - The group brought them to the apostles. Then the apostles prayed and placed their hands on them.
- Acts 17:31 - He has set a day when he will judge the world fairly. He has appointed a man to be its judge. God has proved this to everyone by raising that man from the dead.”
- Acts 17:32 - They heard Paul talk about the dead being raised. Some of them made fun of this idea. But others said, “We want to hear you speak about this again.”
