  • Numbers 14:2 - Their voices rose in a great chorus of protest against Moses and Aaron. “If only we had died in Egypt, or even here in the wilderness!” they complained.
  • Luke 15:12 - The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons.
  • Exodus 16:2 - There, too, the whole community of Israel complained about Moses and Aaron.

  • Exodus 14:12 - Didn’t we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt? We said, ‘Leave us alone! Let us be slaves to the Egyptians. It’s better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the wilderness!’”
  • Acts of the Apostles 15:10 - So why are you now challenging God by burdening the Gentile believers with a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors were able to bear?
  • Psalms 78:56 - But they kept testing and rebelling against God Most High. They did not obey his laws.

  • Acts of the Apostles 5:9 - And Peter said, “How could the two of you even think of conspiring to test the Spirit of the Lord like this? The young men who buried your husband are just outside the door, and they will carry you out, too.”
  • Psalms 95:9 - For there your ancestors tested and tried my patience, even though they saw everything I did.
  • Numbers 21:5 - and they began to speak against God and Moses. “Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die here in the wilderness?” they complained. “There is nothing to eat here and nothing to drink. And we hate this horrible manna!”
  • Hebrews 3:9 - There your ancestors tested and tried my patience, even though they saw my miracles for forty years.
  • Numbers 20:2 - There was no water for the people to drink at that place, so they rebelled against Moses and Aaron.
  • Numbers 20:3 - The people blamed Moses and said, “If only we had died in the Lord’s presence with our brothers!
  • Numbers 20:4 - Why have you brought the congregation of the Lord’s people into this wilderness to die, along with all our livestock?
  • Numbers 20:5 - Why did you make us leave Egypt and bring us here to this terrible place? This land has no grain, no figs, no grapes, no pomegranates, and no water to drink!”
  • Isaiah 7:12 - But the king refused. “No,” he said, “I will not test the Lord like that.”
  • Matthew 4:7 - Jesus responded, “The Scriptures also say, ‘You must not test the Lord your God.’ ”
  • Psalms 78:18 - They stubbornly tested God in their hearts, demanding the foods they craved.
  • 1 Corinthians 10:9 - Nor should we put Christ to the test, as some of them did and then died from snakebites.
  • Psalms 78:41 - Again and again they tested God’s patience and provoked the Holy One of Israel.
  • Deuteronomy 6:16 - You must not test the Lord your God as you did when you complained at Massah.
