  • Judges 8:27 - Gideon made an ephod from all this and put it in Ophrah, his hometown. Then all Israel prostituted themselves by worshiping it there, and it became a snare to Gideon and his household.
  • Revelation 9:20 - The rest of the people, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands to stop worshiping demons and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot see, hear, or walk.
  • Isaiah 30:22 - Then you will defile your silver-plated idols and your gold-plated images. You will throw them away like menstrual cloths, and call them filth.

  • Exodus 20:23 - Do not make gods of silver to rival me; do not make gods of gold for yourselves.
  • Exodus 32:31 - So Moses returned to the Lord and said, “Oh, these people have committed a grave sin; they have made a god of gold for themselves.
  • Jeremiah 10:9 - Beaten silver is brought from Tarshish and gold from Uphaz. The work of a craftsman and of a goldsmith’s hands is clothed in blue and purple, all the work of skilled artisans.
  • Psalms 115:4 - Their idols are silver and gold, made by human hands.
  • Psalms 115:5 - They have mouths but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see.
  • Psalms 115:6 - They have ears but cannot hear, noses, but cannot smell.
  • Psalms 115:7 - They have hands but cannot feel, feet, but cannot walk. They cannot make a sound with their throats.
  • Psalms 115:8 - Those who make them are just like them, as are all who trust in them.
  • Isaiah 40:19 - An idol? — something that a smelter casts and a metalworker plates with gold and makes silver chains for?
  • Isaiah 40:20 - A poor person contributes wood for a pedestal that will not rot. He looks for a skilled craftsman to set up an idol that will not fall over.
  • Isaiah 40:21 - Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not considered the foundations of the earth?

  • Acts 17:29 - Since, then, we are God’s offspring, we shouldn’t think that the divine nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image fashioned by human art and imagination.
  • Psalms 135:15 - The idols of the nations are of silver and gold, made by human hands.
  • Isaiah 2:20 - On that day people will throw their worthless idols of silver and gold, which they made to worship, to the moles and the bats.

  • Acts 19:26 - You see and hear that not only in Ephesus, but in almost all of Asia, this man Paul has persuaded and misled a considerable number of people by saying that gods made by hand are not gods.
  • Hosea 8:4 - They have installed kings, but not through me. They have appointed leaders, but without my approval. They make their silver and gold into idols for themselves for their own destruction.
  • Isaiah 46:6 - Those who pour out their bags of gold and weigh out silver on scales — they hire a goldsmith and he makes it into a god. Then they kneel and bow down to it.
  • Habakkuk 2:19 - Woe to him who says to wood: Wake up! or to mute stone: Come alive! Can it teach? Look! It may be plated with gold and silver, yet there is no breath in it at all.
  • Jeremiah 16:20 - Can one make gods for himself? But they are not gods.
