Jeremiah 31:36 - “Suppose my orders for creation disappear from my sight,” announces the Lord. “Only then will the people of Israel stop being a nation in my sight.”
Jeremiah 31:37 - The Lord says, “Suppose the sky above could be measured. Suppose the foundations of the earth below could be completely discovered. Only then would I turn away the people of Israel. Even though they have committed many sins, I will still accept them,” announces the Lord.
2 Kings 17:18 - So the Lord was very angry with Israel. He removed them from his land. Only the tribe of Judah was left.
2 Kings 15:18 - Menahem did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord. During his entire rule he didn’t turn away from the sins Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, had committed. Jeroboam had caused Israel to commit those same sins.
2 Kings 15:19 - Then Tiglath-Pileser marched into the land of Israel. He was king of Assyria. Menahem gave him 38 tons of silver to get his help. He wanted to make his control over the kingdom stronger.
2 Kings 15:20 - Menahem forced Israel to give him that money. Every wealthy person had to give him 20 ounces of silver. All of it went to the king of Assyria. So he pulled his troops back. He didn’t stay in the land anymore.
Jeremiah 46:28 - People of Jacob, do not be afraid. You are my servant. I am with you,” announces the Lord. “I will completely destroy all the nations among which I scatter you. But I will not completely destroy you. I will correct you. But I will be fair. I will not let you go without any punishment.”
1 Chronicles 16:13 - Remember, you his servants, the children of Israel. Remember, you people of Jacob. Remember, you who are chosen by God.
Deuteronomy 11:12 - It’s a land the Lord your God takes care of. His eyes always look on it with favor. He watches over it from the beginning of the year to its end.
Jeremiah 33:24 - “Haven’t you noticed what these people are saying? They say, ‘The Lord once chose the two kingdoms of Israel and Judah. But now he has turned his back on them.’ So they hate my people. They do not think of them as a nation anymore.
Jeremiah 33:25 - I say, ‘What if I had not made my covenant with day and night? What if I had not established the laws of heaven and earth?
Jeremiah 33:26 - Only then would I turn my back on the children of Jacob and my servant David. Only then would I not choose one of David’s sons to rule over the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. But I will bless my people with great success again. I will love them with tender love.’ ”
Isaiah 45:25 - But the Lord will save all the people of Israel. And so they will boast about the Lord.
Romans 11:1 - So here is what I ask. Did God turn his back on his people? Not at all! I myself belong to Israel. I am one of Abraham’s children. I am from the tribe of Benjamin.
Romans 11:2 - God didn’t turn his back on his people. After all, he chose them. Don’t you know what Scripture says about Elijah? He complained to God about Israel.
2 Kings 13:3 - So the Lord was very angry with Israel. For a long time he kept them under the power of Hazael, the king of Aram. The Lord also kept them under the power of his son Ben-Hadad.
Jeremiah 6:30 - They are like silver that is thrown away. That is because I have not accepted them.”
2 Kings 15:29 - During the rule of Pekah, the king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser marched into the land again. He was king of Assyria. He captured the towns of Ijon, Abel Beth Maakah, Janoah, Kedesh and Hazor. He also captured the lands of Gilead and Galilee. That included the whole territory of Naphtali. He took the people away from their own land. He sent them off to Assyria.
