The Coming Day of the Lord
1Behold, 14:1 See Joel 1:15a day is coming for the Lord, when the spoil taken from you will be divided in your midst.
2For 14:2 Joel 3:2I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and 14:2 [Luke 21:24] the city shall be taken 14:2 Isa. 13:16and the houses plundered 14:2 Lam. 5:11and the women raped. 14:2 ch. 13:8; [Matt. 24:40, 41]Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
314:3 [ch. 12:9]Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle.

11And it shall be inhabited, for 14:11 Rev. 22:3there shall never again be a decree of utter destruction.14:11 The Hebrew term rendered decree of utter destruction refers to things devoted (or set apart) to the Lord (or by the Lord) for destruction14:11 [Jer. 23:6]Jerusalem shall dwell in security.
12And this shall be 14:12 [ver. 15, 18]the plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples that wage war against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.
13And 14:13 See ch. 12:3on that day a great panic from the Lord shall fall on them, so that 14:13 Hag. 2:22; [1 Sam. 14:20]each will seize the hand of another, and the hand of the one will be raised against the hand of the other.
14Even 14:14 [ch. 12:2] Judah will fight at Jerusalem.14:14 Or against Jerusalem And 14:14 [Ezek. 39:10]the wealth of all the surrounding nations shall be collected, gold, silver, and garments in great abundance.
15And 14:15 [ver. 12]a plague like this plague shall fall on the horses, the mules, the camels, the donkeys, and whatever beasts may be in those camps.
16Then everyone who survives of all the nations that have come against Jerusalem 14:16 See ch. 8:21shall go up year after year to worship 14:16 [ver. 9] the King, the Lord of hosts, and 14:16 [Nah. 1:15]; See Lev. 23:34to keep 14:16 See Lev. 23:39-43the Feast of Booths.
17And if 14:17 Isa. 60:12any of the families of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship 14:17 [See ver. 16above] the King, the Lord of hosts, 14:17 See 1 Kgs. 17:1there will be no rain on them.
18And if the family of Egypt does not go up and present themselves, then on them there shall be no rain;14:18 Hebrew lacks rain there shall be 14:18 [See ver. 15above] the plague with which the Lord afflicts the nations that do not go up 14:18 [See ver. 16above]to keep the Feast of Booths.
19This shall be the punishment to Egypt and the punishment to all the nations that do not go up 14:19 [See ver. 16above]to keep the Feast of Booths.
20And 14:20 See ch. 12:3on that day there shall be inscribed on the bells of the horses, 14:20 Ex. 28:36; Isa. 23:18; Mic. 4:13“Holy to the Lord.” And the pots in the house of the Lord shall be as the bowls before the altar.
21And every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be 14:21 [See ver. 20above] holy to the Lord of hosts, so that all who sacrifice may come and take of them and boil the meat of the sacrifice in them. And 14:21 Ezek. 44:9; See Joel 3:17there shall no longer be 14:21 [Deut. 7:1, 2] a trader14:21 Or Canaanite in the house of the Lord of hosts 14:21 [See ver. 20above]on that day.
