and their lips 24:2 Ps. 10:7talk of trouble.

3By 24:3 [ch. 14:1]wisdom a house is built,
and by understanding it is established;
4by knowledge the rooms are filled

and in 24:6 See ch. 11:14abundance of counselors there is victory.

your strength is small.

12If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,”

13My son, 24:13 [Ps. 19:10; 119:103; Song 5:1; Isa. 7:15] eat honey, for it is good,
and 24:13 Song 4:11the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste.
14Know that wisdom is such to your soul;
if you find it, there will be 24:14 See ch. 23:18a future,
and your hope will not be cut off.

1524:15 Ps. 10:9, 10Lie not in wait as a wicked man against the dwelling of the righteous;
do no violence to his home;
1624:16 See Ps. 37:24for the righteous falls 24:16 See Job 5:19seven times and rises again,
but 24:16 ch. 14:32the wicked stumble in times of calamity.

1724:17 Ps. 35:15, 19; [Mic. 7:8]; See ch. 17:5Do not rejoice when your enemy falls,
and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles,
18lest the Lord see it and be displeased,
and turn away his anger from him.

1924:19 [Jer. 12:1]; See Ps. 37:1Fret not yourself because of evildoers,
and be not 24:19 ver. 1envious of the wicked,
20for the evil man has no 24:20 [See ver. 14above] future;
24:20 ch. 13:9; See Job 18:5the lamp of the wicked will be put out.

21My son, 24:21 1 Pet. 2:17; [Rom. 13:7]fear the Lord and the king,
and do not join with those who do otherwise,
22for disaster will arise suddenly from them,
and who knows the ruin that will come from them both?
