1My heart is moved by a noble theme

as I recite my verses to the king;

my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer. Ezr 7:6

4in your splendor ride triumphantly

in the cause of truth, humility, and justice.

May your right hand show your awe-inspiring acts. Ps 65:5; 98:1

5Your arrows pierce the hearts of the king’s enemies;

the peoples fall under you. Dt 23:14; Ps 18:14

6Your throne, Heb 1:8-9 God, is Or Your divine throne is, or Your throne is God’s forever and ever;

the scepter of Your Or your kingdom is a scepter of justice. Ps 93:2

7You love righteousness and hate wickedness; Ps 33:5

therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of joy

more than your companions.

8Myrrh, aloes, and cassia perfume all your garments;

from ivory palaces harps bring you joy. Sg 4:14; Jn 19:39

9Kings’ daughters are among your honored women; Sg 6:8

the queen, adorned with gold from Ophir,

stands at your right hand. 1Kg 9:28; 10:11

10Listen, daughter, pay attention and consider:

forget your people and your father’s house, Ru 1:16-17

11and the king will desire your beauty.

Bow down to him, for he is your lord. Eph 5:33

12The daughter of Tyre, the wealthy people,

will seek your favor with gifts. Ps 68:29; 72:10-11; Is 49:23

13In her chamber, the royal daughter is all glorious,

her clothing embroidered with gold. Ex 39:2-3; Rv 19:7-8

14In colorful garments she is led to the king;

after her, the virgins, her companions, are brought to you. Ezk 16:18; 26:16

15They are led in with gladness and rejoicing;

they enter the king’s palace. Jr 22:4

16Your sons will succeed your ancestors;

you will make them princes throughout the land. 1Pt 2:9; Rv 1:6; 5:10

17I will cause your name to be remembered for all generations;

therefore the peoples will praise you forever and ever. Mal 1:11
