The Voice of the Lord
A psalm of David.
1Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings,29:1 Or you sons of gods, or you sons of mighty ones
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
2Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
worship the Lord

3The voice of the Lord is above the waters.
The God of glory thunders —

4the voice of the Lord in power,

5The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
the Lord shatters the cedars of Lebanon.29:5 Ps 104:16
6He makes Lebanon skip like a calf,29:6 Ps 114:4,6
and Sirion, like a young wild ox.29:6 Dt 3:8–9
7The voice of the Lord flashes flames of fire.29:7 Dt 4:12,33
8The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;

In his temple all cry, “Glory!”

10The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;
