Yahweh Is Great

1Hallelujah!

Praise the name of Yahweh.

Give praise, you servants of Yahweh Ps 113:1; 134:1

2who stand in the house of Yahweh,

in the courts of the house of our God. Ps 92:13; 116:19

3Praise Yahweh, for Yahweh is good;

sing praise to His name, for it is delightful. Ps 100:5; 147:1

4For Yahweh has chosen Jacob for Himself,

Israel as His treasured possession. Ex 19:5; Dt 7:6-7; 10:15

5For I know that Yahweh is great;

our Lord is greater than all gods. Ps 95:3; 97:9

6Yahweh does whatever He pleases

in heaven and on earth,

in the seas and all the depths. Ps 115:3; Is 45:7; Lm 3:37-38; Dn 4:35

7He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth.

He makes lightning for the rain

and brings the wind from His storehouses. Jb 28:25-26; Jr 10:13; 51:16

8He struck down the firstborn of Egypt,

both man and beast. Ex 12:12; Ps 78:51; 105:36

9He sent signs and wonders against you, Egypt,

against Pharaoh and all his officials. Dt 6:22; Ps 78:43

10He struck down many nations

and slaughtered mighty kings: Ps 44:2; 136:17-22

11Sihon king of the Amorites,

Og king of Bashan,

and all the kings of Canaan. Nm 21:21-35

12He gave their land as an inheritance,

an inheritance to His people Israel. Dt 29:8; Ps 78:55

13Yahweh, Your name endures forever,

Your reputation, Yahweh,

through all generations. Ex 3:15; Ps 102:12

14For Yahweh will vindicate His people

and have compassion on His servants. Dt 32:36; Ps 90:13; 106:46

15The idols of the nations are of silver and gold,

made by human hands. 2Kg 19:18; Is 37:19

16They have mouths but cannot speak, Hab 2:18

eyes, but cannot see.

17They have ears but cannot hear;

indeed, there is no breath in their mouths. Is 46:7

18Those who make them are just like them,

as are all who trust in them. Ps 115:4-11

19House of Israel, praise Yahweh! Ps 115:9; 118:2

House of Aaron, praise Yahweh! Ps 115:10; 118:3

20House of Levi, praise Yahweh!

You who revere the Lord, praise the Lord! Ps 22:23; 115:11; 118:4

21May the Lord be praised from Zion; Ps 128:5

He dwells in Jerusalem. Ps 132:13-14
