A Song of Praise
1On that day you will say:
“I will give thanks to you, Lord,
although you were angry with me.
Your anger has turned away,
and you have comforted me.12:1 Is 40:1
2Indeed, God is my salvation;
I will trust him and not be afraid,
for the Lord, the Lord himself,
is my strength and my song.
He has become my salvation.”12:2 Ex 15:2; Ps 118:14
3You will joyfully draw water12:3 Jn 4:10; 7:37–38
from the springs of salvation,
4and on that day you will say,
“Give thanks to the Lord; proclaim his name!
Make his works known among the peoples.12:4 1Ch 16:8; Ps 105:1; 145:4
Declare that his name is exalted.
5Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things.12:5 Ex 15:1; Ps 98:1; Is 24:14; 42:10–11; 44:23
Let this be known throughout the earth.
6Cry out and sing, citizen of Zion,
for the Holy One of Israel12:6 Is 1:4 is among you
in his greatness.”
