  • Isaiah 30:9 - that these people are stubborn rebels who refuse to pay attention to the Lord’s instructions.
  • Isaiah 30:10 - They tell the seers, “Stop seeing visions!” They tell the prophets, “Don’t tell us what is right. Tell us nice things. Tell us lies.
  • Isaiah 30:11 - Forget all this gloom. Get off your narrow path. Stop telling us about your ‘Holy One of Israel.’”
  • Jeremiah 36:23 - Each time Jehudi finished reading three or four columns, the king took a knife and cut off that section of the scroll. He then threw it into the fire, section by section, until the whole scroll was burned up.
  • Jeremiah 36:24 - Neither the king nor his attendants showed any signs of fear or repentance at what they heard.
  • Nehemiah 9:16 - “But our ancestors were proud and stubborn, and they paid no attention to your commands.

  • Jeremiah 3:12 - Therefore, go and give this message to Israel. This is what the Lord says: “O Israel, my faithless people, come home to me again, for I am merciful. I will not be angry with you forever.
  • 2 Chronicles 34:21 - “Go to the Temple and speak to the Lord for me and for all the remnant of Israel and Judah. Inquire about the words written in the scroll that has been found. For the Lord’s great anger has been poured out on us because our ancestors have not obeyed the word of the Lord. We have not been doing everything this scroll says we must do.”
  • 1 Peter 1:18 - For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value.
  • Jeremiah 6:16 - This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’
  • Jeremiah 6:17 - I posted watchmen over you who said, ‘Listen for the sound of the alarm.’ But you replied, ‘No! We won’t pay attention!’

  • Jeremiah 13:10 - These wicked people refuse to listen to me. They stubbornly follow their own desires and worship other gods. Therefore, they will become like this loincloth—good for nothing!

  • Jeremiah 7:7 - Then I will let you stay in this land that I gave to your ancestors to keep forever.
  • Jeremiah 11:6 - Then the Lord said, “Broadcast this message in the streets of Jerusalem. Go from town to town throughout the land and say, ‘Remember the ancient covenant, and do everything it requires.
  • Jeremiah 11:7 - For I solemnly warned your ancestors when I brought them out of Egypt, “Obey me!” I have repeated this warning over and over to this day,
  • Jeremiah 11:8 - but your ancestors did not listen or even pay attention. Instead, they stubbornly followed their own evil desires. And because they refused to obey, I brought upon them all the curses described in this covenant.’”
  • 2 Chronicles 36:15 - The Lord, the God of their ancestors, repeatedly sent his prophets to warn them, for he had compassion on his people and his Temple.
  • 2 Chronicles 36:16 - But the people mocked these messengers of God and despised their words. They scoffed at the prophets until the Lord’s anger could no longer be restrained and nothing could be done.
  • Isaiah 1:16 - Wash yourselves and be clean! Get your sins out of my sight. Give up your evil ways.
  • Isaiah 1:17 - Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.
  • Isaiah 1:18 - “Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.
  • Isaiah 1:19 - If you will only obey me, you will have plenty to eat.
  • Zechariah 1:3 - Therefore, say to the people, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.’
  • Ezekiel 33:11 - As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die?
  • Jeremiah 35:15 - Time after time I sent you prophets, who told you, “Turn from your wicked ways, and start doing things right. Stop worshiping other gods so that you might live in peace here in the land I have given to you and your ancestors.” But you would not listen to me or obey me.
  • Psalms 106:6 - Like our ancestors, we have sinned. We have done wrong! We have acted wickedly!
  • Psalms 106:7 - Our ancestors in Egypt were not impressed by the Lord’s miraculous deeds. They soon forgot his many acts of kindness to them. Instead, they rebelled against him at the Red Sea.
  • Psalms 78:8 - Then they will not be like their ancestors— stubborn, rebellious, and unfaithful, refusing to give their hearts to God.
