Psalm 116:16 - Lord, I serve you. I serve you just as my mother did. You have set me free from the chains of my suffering.
Psalm 116:17 - Lord, I will sacrifice a thank offering to you. I will worship you.
Philippians 4:6 - Don’t worry about anything. No matter what happens, tell God about everything. Ask and pray, and give thanks to him.
Isaiah 12:1 - In days to come, the people of Israel will sing, “Lord, we will praise you. You were angry with us. But now your anger has turned away from us. And you have brought us comfort.

Romans 7:15 - I don’t understand what I do. I don’t do what I want to do. Instead, I do what I hate to do.
Romans 7:16 - I do what I don’t want to do. So I agree that the law is good.
Romans 7:17 - As it is, I am no longer the one who does these things. It is sin living in me that does them.
Romans 7:18 - I know there is nothing good in my desires controlled by sin. I want to do what is good, but I can’t.
Romans 7:19 - I don’t do the good things I want to do. I keep on doing the evil things I don’t want to do.
Romans 7:20 - I do what I don’t want to do. But I am not really the one who is doing it. It is sin living in me that does it.
Romans 7:21 - Here is the law I find working in me. When I want to do good, evil is right there with me.
Romans 7:22 - Deep inside me I find joy in God’s law.
Romans 7:23 - But I see another law working in me. It fights against the law of my mind. It makes me a prisoner of the law of sin. That law controls me.
Romans 7:24 - What a terrible failure I am! Who will save me from this sin that brings death to my body?
Isaiah 49:9 - I want you to say to the prisoners, ‘Come out.’ Tell those who are in their dark cells, ‘You are free!’ “On their way home they will eat beside the roads. They will find plenty to eat on every bare hill.
Colossians 3:17 - Do everything you say or do in the name of the Lord Jesus. Always give thanks to God the Father through Christ.
Psalm 107:15 - Let them give thanks to the Lord for his faithful love. Let them give thanks for the wonderful things he does for people.
Psalm 107:16 - He breaks down gates that are made of bronze. He cuts through bars that are made of iron.
Isaiah 49:13 - Shout for joy, you heavens! Be glad, you earth! Burst into song, you mountains! The Lord will comfort his people. He will show his tender love to those who are suffering.
2 Corinthians 12:9 - But he said to me, “My grace is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak.” So I am very happy to brag about how weak I am. Then Christ’s power can rest on me.
2 Corinthians 12:10 - Because of how I suffered for Christ, I’m glad that I am weak. I am glad in hard times. I am glad when people say mean things about me. I am glad when things are difficult. And I am glad when people make me suffer. When I am weak, I am strong.
1 Peter 2:5 - You also are like living stones. As you come to Christ, you are being built into a house for worship. There you will be holy priests. You will offer spiritual sacrifices. God will accept them because of what Jesus Christ has done.
Galatians 5:17 - The desires controlled by sin do not want what the Spirit delights in. And the Spirit does not want what the desires controlled by sin delight in. The two are at war with each other. That’s why you are not supposed to do whatever you want.
Galatians 5:18 - But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the authority of the law.
Galatians 5:19 - The result of sin’s control in our lives is clear. It includes sexual sins, impure acts and wild living.
Galatians 5:20 - It includes worshiping statues of gods and worshiping evil powers. It also includes hatred and fighting, jealousy and fits of anger. Sinful desire is interested only in getting ahead. It stirs up trouble. It separates people into their own little groups.
Galatians 5:21 - It wants what others have. It gets drunk and takes part in wild parties. It does many things of that kind. I warn you now as I did before. People who live like this will not receive God’s kingdom.
Galatians 5:22 - But the fruit the Holy Spirit produces is love, joy and peace. It is being patient, kind and good. It is being faithful
Galatians 5:23 - and gentle and having control of oneself. There is no law against things of that kind.
Galatians 5:24 - Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed their sinful desires to his cross. They don’t want these things anymore.
