  • 2 Kings 9:26 - ‘I solemnly swear that I will repay him here on this plot of land, says the Lord, for the murder of Naboth and his sons that I saw yesterday.’ So throw him out on Naboth’s property, just as the Lord said.”
  • 1 Samuel 12:3 - Now testify against me in the presence of the Lord and before his anointed one. Whose ox or donkey have I stolen? Have I ever cheated any of you? Have I ever oppressed you? Have I ever taken a bribe and perverted justice? Tell me and I will make right whatever I have done wrong.”
  • 1 Samuel 12:4 - “No,” they replied, “you have never cheated or oppressed us, and you have never taken even a single bribe.”
  • Malachi 3:5 - “At that time I will put you on trial. I am eager to witness against all sorcerers and adulterers and liars.   • Job 24:8 - They are soaked by mountain showers, and they huddle against the rocks for want of a home.

  • Job 24:10 - The poor must go about naked, without any clothing. They harvest food for others while they themselves are starving.
  • Job 24:11 - They press out olive oil without being allowed to taste it, and they tread in the winepress as they suffer from thirst.
  • Job 24:12 - The groans of the dying rise from the city, and the wounded cry for help, yet God ignores their moaning.
  • Habakkuk 2:5 - Wealth is treacherous, and the arrogant are never at rest. They open their mouths as wide as the grave, and like death, they are never satisfied. In their greed they have gathered up many nations and swallowed many peoples.
  • Habakkuk 2:6 - “But soon their captives will taunt them. They will mock them, saying, ‘What sorrow awaits you thieves! Now you will get what you deserve! You’ve become rich by extortion, but how much longer can this go on?’
  • Habakkuk 2:7 - Suddenly, your debtors will take action. They will turn on you and take all you have, while you stand trembling and helpless.
  • Habakkuk 2:8 - Because you have plundered many nations, now all the survivors will plunder you. You committed murder throughout the countryside and filled the towns with violence.
  • Habakkuk 2:9 - “What sorrow awaits you who build big houses with money gained dishonestly! You believe your wealth will buy security, putting your family’s nest beyond the reach of danger.
  • 1 Timothy 6:10 - For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

  • Exodus 22:21 - “You must not mistreat or oppress foreigners in any way. Remember, you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt.

  • Jeremiah 22:17 - “But you! You have eyes only for greed and dishonesty! You murder the innocent, oppress the poor, and reign ruthlessly.”
  • Amos 8:4 - Listen to this, you who rob the poor and trample down the needy!
  • Isaiah 5:8 - What sorrow for you who buy up house after house and field after field, until everyone is evicted and you live alone in the land.
