  • John 7:25 - Then some of the people of Jerusalem began asking questions. They said, “Isn’t this the man some people are trying to kill?
  • John 7:26 - Here he is! He is speaking openly. They aren’t saying a word to him. Have the authorities really decided that he is the Messiah?
  • John 7:30 - When he said this, they tried to arrest him. But no one laid a hand on him. The time for him to show who he really was had not yet come.
  • John 7:45 - Finally the temple guards went back to the chief priests and the Pharisees. They asked the guards, “Why didn’t you bring him in?”
  • Revelation 12:9 - The great dragon was thrown down to the earth, and his angels with him. The dragon is that old serpent called the devil, or Satan. He leads the whole world astray.
  • Revelation 12:10 - Then I heard a loud voice in heaven. It said, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God have come. The authority of his Messiah has come. Satan, who brings charges against our brothers and sisters, has been thrown down. He brings charges against them in front of our God day and night.
  • Revelation 12:11 - They had victory over him by the blood the Lamb spilled for them. They had victory over him by speaking the truth about Jesus to others. They were willing to risk their lives, even if it led to death.
  • Revelation 12:12 - So be joyful, you heavens! Be glad, all you who live there! But how terrible it will be for the earth and the sea! The devil has come down to you. He is very angry. He knows his time is short.”
  • John 14:30 - I will not say much more to you. The prince of this world is coming. He has no power over me.
  • 2 Corinthians 4:3 - Suppose our good news is covered with a veil. Then it is veiled to those who are dying.
  • 2 Corinthians 4:4 - The god of this world has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They can’t see the light of the good news that makes Christ’s glory clear. Christ is the likeness of God.
  • 2 Corinthians 4:5 - The message we preach is not about ourselves. Our message is about Jesus Christ. We say that he is Lord. And we say that we serve you because of Jesus.
  • 2 Corinthians 4:6 - God said, “Let light shine out of darkness.” ( Genesis 1:3 ) He made his light shine in our hearts. His light gives us the light to know God’s glory. His glory is shown in the face of Christ.
  • Judges 16:21 - Then the Philistines grabbed him. They poked his eyes out. They took him down to Gaza. They put bronze chains around him. Then they made him grind grain in the prison.
  • Judges 16:22 - His head had been shaved. But the hair on it began to grow again.
  • Judges 16:23 - The rulers of the Philistines gathered together. They were going to offer a great sacrifice to their god Dagon. They were going to celebrate. They said, “Our god has handed our enemy Samson over to us.”
  • Judges 16:24 - When the people saw Samson, they praised their god. They said, “Our god has handed our enemy over to us. Our enemy has destroyed our land. He has killed large numbers of our people.”
  • Judges 16:25 - After they had drunk a lot of wine, they shouted, “Bring Samson out. Let him put on a show for us.” So they called Samson out of the prison. He put on a show for them. They had him stand near the temple pillars.
  • Judges 16:26 - Then he spoke to the servant who was holding his hand. He said, “Put me where I can feel the pillars. I’m talking about the ones that hold up the temple. I want to lean against them.”
  • Judges 16:27 - The temple was crowded with men and women. All the Philistine rulers were there. About 3,000 men and women were on the roof. They were watching Samson put on a show.
  • Judges 16:28 - Then he prayed to the Lord. Samson said, “Lord and King, show me that you still have concern for me. Please, God, make me strong just one more time. Let me pay the Philistines back for what they did to my two eyes. Let me do it with only one blow.”
  • Judges 16:29 - Then Samson reached toward the two pillars that were in the middle of the temple. They were the ones that held up the temple. He put his right hand on one of them. He put his left hand on the other. He leaned hard against them.
  • Judges 16:30 - Samson said, “Let me die together with the Philistines!” Then he pushed with all his might. The temple came down on the rulers. It fell on all the people in it. So Samson killed many more Philistines when he died than he did while he lived.
  • Luke 21:37 - Each day Jesus taught at the temple. And each evening he went to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives.
  • Luke 21:38 - All the people came to the temple early in the morning. They wanted to hear Jesus speak.
  • Matthew 21:45 - The chief priests and the Pharisees heard Jesus’ stories. They knew he was talking about them.
  • Matthew 21:46 - So they looked for a way to arrest him. But they were afraid of the crowd. The people believed that Jesus was a prophet.
  • Acts 26:18 - to open their eyes. I want you to turn them from darkness to light. I want you to turn them from Satan’s power to God. I want their sins to be forgiven. They will be forgiven when they believe in me. They will have their place among God’s people.’
  • John 16:20 - What I’m about to tell you is true. You will weep and mourn while the world is full of joy. You will be sad, but your sadness will turn into joy.
  • John 16:21 - A woman giving birth to a baby has pain. That’s because her time to give birth has come. But when her baby is born, she forgets the pain. She forgets because she is so happy that a baby has been born into the world.
  • John 16:22 - That’s the way it is with you. Now it’s your time to be sad. But I will see you again. Then you will be full of joy. And no one will take away your joy.
  • Ephesians 6:12 - Our fight is not against human beings. It is against the rulers, the authorities and the powers of this dark world. It is against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly world.
  • John 12:27 - “My soul is troubled. What should I say? ‘Father, keep me from having to go through with this’? No. This is the very reason I have come to this point in my life.
