  • Job 40:10 - Then put on glory and beauty as if they were your clothes. Also put on honor and majesty.
  • Job 40:11 - Let loose your great anger. Look at those who are proud and bring them low.
  • Job 40:12 - Look at proud people and make them humble. Crush evil people right where they are.
  • 2 Corinthians 10:5 - I destroy every claim and every reason that keeps people from knowing God. I keep every thought under control in order to make it obey Christ.
  • Psalm 63:5 - I will be as satisfied as if I had eaten the best food there is. I will sing praise to you with my mouth.
  • Revelation 18:8 - But she will be plagued by death, sadness and hunger. In a single day she will suffer all these plagues. She will be burned up by fire. That’s because the Lord God who judges her is mighty.
  • Psalm 2:1 - Why do the nations plan evil together? Why do they make useless plans?
  • Psalm 2:2 - The kings of the earth rise up against the Lord. The rulers of the earth join together against his anointed king.
  • Psalm 2:3 - “Let us break free from their chains,” they say. “Let us throw off their ropes.”
  • Psalm 2:4 - The God who sits on his throne in heaven laughs. The Lord makes fun of those rulers and their plans.
  • Psalm 2:5 - When he is angry, he warns them. When his anger blazes out, he terrifies them.
  • Psalm 2:6 - He says to them, “I have placed my king on my holy mountain of Zion.”
  • Exodus 18:11 - Now I know that the Lord is greater than all other gods. See what he did to those who looked down on Israel.”
  • Deuteronomy 4:34 - Has any god ever tried to take one nation out of another to be his own? Has any god done it by testing his people? Has any god done it with signs and amazing deeds or with war? Has any god reached out his mighty hand and powerful arm? Or has any god shown his people his great and wonderful acts? The Lord your God did all those things for you in Egypt. With your very own eyes you saw him do them.
  • Isaiah 10:12 - The Lord will finish everything he has planned to do against Mount Zion and Jerusalem. Then he’ll say, “Now I will punish the king of Assyria. I will punish him because his heart and his eyes are so proud.
  • Isaiah 10:13 - The king of Assyria says, “ ‘By my power I have taken over all these nations. I am very wise. I have great understanding. I have wiped out the borders between nations. I’ve taken their treasures. Like a great hero I’ve brought their kings under my control.
  • Isaiah 10:14 - I’ve taken the wealth of the nations. It was as easy as reaching into a bird’s nest. I’ve gathered the riches of all these countries. It was as easy as gathering eggs that have been left in a nest. Not a single baby bird flapped its wings. Not one of them opened its mouth to chirp.’ ”
  • Isaiah 10:15 - Does an ax claim to be more important than the person who swings it? Does a saw brag that it is better than the one who uses it? That would be like a stick swinging the person who picks it up! It would be like a war club waving the one who carries it!
  • Isaiah 10:16 - So the Lord who rules over all will send a sickness. The Lord will send it on the king of Assyria’s strong fighting men. It will make them weaker and weaker. The army he was so proud of will be completely destroyed. It will be as if it had been burned up in a fire.
  • Isaiah 10:17 - The Lord is the Light of Israel. He will become a fire. Israel’s Holy One will become a flame. In a single day he will burn up all Assyria’s bushes. He will destroy all their thorns.
  • Isaiah 10:18 - He will completely destroy the beauty of their forests and rich farm lands. The Assyrian army will be like a sick person who becomes weaker and weaker.
  • Isaiah 10:19 - It will be like the trees of their forests. So few of them will be left standing that even a child could count them.
  • Genesis 6:5 - The Lord saw how bad the sins of everyone on earth had become. They only thought about evil things.
  • Isaiah 63:12 - He used his glorious and powerful arm to help Moses. He parted the waters of the sea in front of them. That mighty act made him famous forever.
  • Psalm 89:10 - You crushed Egypt and killed her people. With your powerful arm you scattered your enemies.
  • Isaiah 40:10 - The Lord and King is coming with power. He rules with a powerful arm. He has set his people free. He is bringing them back as his reward. He has won the battle over their enemies.
  • Romans 1:21 - They knew God. But they didn’t honor him as God. They didn’t thank him. Their thinking became worthless. Their foolish hearts became dark.
  • 1 Samuel 2:9 - He guards the paths of his faithful servants. But evil people will lie silent in their dark graves. “People don’t win just because they are strong.
  • 1 Samuel 2:10 - Those who oppose the Lord will be totally destroyed. The Most High God will thunder from heaven. The Lord will judge the earth from one end to the other. “He will give power to his king. He will give honor to his anointed one.”
  • Psalm 118:15 - Shouts of joy ring out in the tents of godly people. They praise him for his help in battle. They shout, “The Lord’s powerful right hand has done mighty things!
  • Isaiah 52:10 - The Lord will use the power of his holy arm to save his people. All the nations will see him do it. Everyone from one end of the earth to the other will see it.
  • Daniel 4:37 - Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, give praise and honor and glory to the King of heaven. Everything he does is right. All his ways are fair. He is able to bring down those who live proudly.
  • 1 Samuel 2:3 - “Don’t keep talking so proudly. Don’t let your mouth say such proud things. The Lord is a God who knows everything. He judges everything people do.
  • 1 Samuel 2:4 - “The bows of great heroes are broken. But those who trip and fall are made strong.
  • Isaiah 51:9 - Wake up, arm of the Lord! Wake up! Dress yourself with strength as if it were your clothes! Wake up, just as you did in the past. Wake up, as you did long ago. Didn’t you cut Rahab to pieces? Didn’t you stab that sea monster to death?
  • Psalm 98:1 - Sing a new song to the Lord. He has done wonderful things. By the power of his right hand and his holy arm he has saved his people.
