  • Luke 11:51 - from the murder of Abel to the murder of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, it will certainly be charged against this generation.
  • Luke 11:52 - “What sorrow awaits you experts in religious law! For you remove the key to knowledge from the people. You don’t enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from entering.”
  • Luke 11:53 - As Jesus was leaving, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees became hostile and tried to provoke him with many questions.
  • Luke 11:54 - They wanted to trap him into saying something they could use against him.
  • Revelation 11:5 - If anyone tries to harm them, fire flashes from their mouths and consumes their enemies. This is how anyone who tries to harm them must die.
  • Revelation 11:6 - They have power to shut the sky so that no rain will fall for as long as they prophesy. And they have the power to turn the rivers and oceans into blood, and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they wish.

  • Revelation 11:8 - And their bodies will lie in the main street of Jerusalem, the city that is figuratively called “Sodom” and “Egypt,” the city where their Lord was crucified.
  • Revelation 11:9 - And for three and a half days, all peoples, tribes, languages, and nations will stare at their bodies. No one will be allowed to bury them.
  • Revelation 11:10 - All the people who belong to this world will gloat over them and give presents to each other to celebrate the death of the two prophets who had tormented them.
  • Revelation 11:11 - But after three and a half days, God breathed life into them, and they stood up! Terror struck all who were staring at them.
  • Jeremiah 20:8 - When I speak, the words burst out. “Violence and destruction!” I shout. So these messages from the Lord have made me a household joke.
  • Luke 6:26 - What sorrow awaits you who are praised by the crowds, for their ancestors also praised false prophets.
  • Isaiah 29:21 - Those who convict the innocent by their false testimony will disappear. A similar fate awaits those who use trickery to pervert justice and who tell lies to destroy the innocent.

  • 1 Kings 22:8 - The king of Israel replied to Jehoshaphat, “There is one more man who could consult the Lord for us, but I hate him. He never prophesies anything but trouble for me! His name is Micaiah son of Imlah.” Jehoshaphat replied, “That’s not the way a king should talk! Let’s hear what he has to say.”
  • 1 John 3:12 - We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous.
  • 1 John 3:13 - So don’t be surprised, dear brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.
  • Malachi 3:5 - “At that time I will put you on trial. I am eager to witness against all sorcerers and adulterers and liars. I will speak against those who cheat employees of their wages, who oppress widows and orphans, or who deprive the foreigners living among you of justice, for these people do not fear me,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
  • Acts of the Apostles 5:28 - “We gave you strict orders never again to teach in this man’s name!” he said. “Instead, you have filled all Jerusalem with your teaching about him, and you want to make us responsible for his death!”
  • Acts of the Apostles 5:29 - But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than any human authority.
  • Acts of the Apostles 5:30 - The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead after you killed him by hanging him on a cross.
  • Acts of the Apostles 5:31 - Then God put him in the place of honor at his right hand as Prince and Savior. He did this so the people of Israel would repent of their sins and be forgiven.
  • Acts of the Apostles 5:32 - We are witnesses of these things and so is the Holy Spirit, who is given by God to those who obey him.”
  • Acts of the Apostles 5:33 - When they heard this, the high council was furious and decided to kill them.
  • Amos 7:7 - Then he showed me another vision. I saw the Lord standing beside a wall that had been built using a plumb line. He was using a plumb line to see if it was still straight.
  • Amos 7:8 - And the Lord said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” I answered, “A plumb line.” And the Lord replied, “I will test my people with this plumb line. I will no longer ignore all their sins.
  • Amos 7:9 - The pagan shrines of your ancestors will be ruined, and the temples of Israel will be destroyed; I will bring the dynasty of King Jeroboam to a sudden end.”
  • Amos 7:10 - Then Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, sent a message to Jeroboam, king of Israel: “Amos is hatching a plot against you right here on your very doorstep! What he is saying is intolerable.
  • Amos 7:11 - He is saying, ‘Jeroboam will soon be killed, and the people of Israel will be sent away into exile.’”
  • Amos 7:12 - Then Amaziah sent orders to Amos: “Get out of here, you prophet! Go on back to the land of Judah, and earn your living by prophesying there!
  • Amos 7:13 - Don’t bother us with your prophecies here in Bethel. This is the king’s sanctuary and the national place of worship!”
  • John 17:14 - I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world.
  • Romans 8:7 - For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will.
  • Proverbs 8:36 - But those who miss me injure themselves. All who hate me love death.”
  • James 4:4 - You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.
  • 1 Kings 21:20 - “So, my enemy, you have found me!” Ahab exclaimed to Elijah. “Yes,” Elijah answered, “I have come because you have sold yourself to what is evil in the Lord’s sight.
  • John 15:23 - Anyone who hates me also hates my Father.
  • John 15:24 - If I hadn’t done such miraculous signs among them that no one else could do, they would not be guilty. But as it is, they have seen everything I did, yet they still hate me and my Father.
  • John 15:25 - This fulfills what is written in their Scriptures : ‘They hated me without cause.’
  • Proverbs 9:7 - Anyone who rebukes a mocker will get an insult in return. Anyone who corrects the wicked will get hurt.
  • Proverbs 9:8 - So don’t bother correcting mockers; they will only hate you. But correct the wise, and they will love you.
  • Galatians 4:16 - Have I now become your enemy because I am telling you the truth?
  • John 3:19 - And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.
  • John 15:18 - “If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first.
  • John 15:19 - The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.
