Richter 18:24 - »Ihr habt meine Götter gestohlen, die ich selbst angefertigt habe!«, gab Micha zurück. »Und auch meinen Priester habt ihr mir genommen! Ich bin von euch ausgeraubt worden, und da fragt ihr noch: ›Was ist los?‹«
5. Mose 27:15 - ›Verflucht ist, wer aus Holz oder Metall eine Götzenstatue anfertigt und sie heimlich aufstellt. Denn sie ist ein Werk von Menschenhand, das der Herr verabscheut.‹ Und das ganze Volk soll antworten: ›So soll es sein!‹
Hesekiel 8:12 - Gott sprach zu mir: »Hast du gesehen, Mensch, was die führenden Männer des Volkes Israel treiben? Jeder von ihnen betet hier heimlich seine eigenen Götterbilder in einer Kammer an. Sie behaupten: ›Der Herr sieht uns nicht, er hat das Land verlassen!‹
1. Mose 31:30 - Na schön, du bist losgezogen, weil das Heimweh dich nach Hause zu deiner Familie treibt. Aber warum hast du meine Götterfiguren gestohlen?«
Apostelgeschichte 17:29 - Weil wir nun von Gott abstammen, ist es doch unsinnig zu glauben, dass wir Gott in Statuen aus Gold, Silber oder behauenen Steinen darstellen könnten. Diese sind doch nur Gebilde unserer Kunst und unserer Vorstellungen.
5. Mose 4:28 - Dort müsst ihr Göttern dienen, die von Menschen gemacht sind, Götzen aus Holz und Stein, die nicht sehen, nicht hören, nicht essen und nicht riechen können.

Jesaja 41:7 - Sie setzen ihre Hoffnung auf eine neue Götterstatue. Der Kunsthandwerker glättet die gegossene Figur mit dem Hammer und fordert den Goldschmied auf: »Beeil dich!« Der hämmert das Goldblech und überzieht damit sorgfältig die Statue. »Das wird gut halten«, sagt er. Schließlich wird das Standbild auf einem Sockel festgenagelt, damit es nicht wackelt.
1. Mose 31:19 - Kurz bevor sie aufbrachen, nutzte Rahel die Gelegenheit und stahl die kleinen Götterfiguren ihres Vaters. Laban war nicht zu Hause, er war mit der Schafschur beschäftigt.

1. Mose 35:2 - Jakob befahl seiner Familie und denen, die zu ihm gehörten: »Werft alle Götterfiguren weg, die ihr noch bei euch habt! Wascht euch und zieht saubere Kleidung an, um rein vor Gott zu treten!
Römer 1:23 - Statt den ewigen Gott in seiner Herrlichkeit anzubeten, verehrten sie Götzenstatuen von sterblichen Menschen, von Vögeln und von vierfüßigen und kriechenden Tieren.
