  • Isaiah 10:19 - Of all that glorious forest, only a few trees will survive— so few that a child could count them!
  • Isaiah 10:24 - So this is what the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, says: “O my people in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians when they oppress you with rod and club as the Egyptians did long ago.
  • Isaiah 10:25 - In a little while my anger against you will end, and then my anger will rise up to destroy them.”
  • Isaiah 10:26 - The Lord of Heaven’s Armies will lash them with his whip, as he did when Gideon triumphed over the Midianites at the rock of Oreb, or when the Lord’s staff was raised to drown the Egyptian army in the sea.
  • Isaiah 10:27 - In that day the Lord will end the bondage of his people. He will break the yoke of slavery and lift it from their shoulders.
  • Isaiah 37:36 - That night the angel of the Lord went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. When the surviving Assyrians woke up the next morning, they found corpses everywhere.
  • Isaiah 37:37 - Then King Sennacherib of Assyria broke camp and returned to his own land. He went home to his capital of Nineveh and stayed there.
  • Isaiah 37:38 - One day while he was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisroch, his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer killed him with their swords. They then escaped to the land of Ararat, and another son, Esarhaddon, became the next king of Assyria.
  • Nahum 1:13 - Now I will break the yoke of bondage from your neck and tear off the chains of Assyrian oppression.”
  • Isaiah 9:4 - For you will break the yoke of their slavery and lift the heavy burden from their shoulders. You will break the oppressor’s rod, just as you did when you destroyed the army of Midian.
