  • New International Version - When everything had been arranged like this, the priests entered regularly into the outer room to carry on their ministry.
  • English Standard Version - These preparations having thus been made, the priests go regularly into the first section, performing their ritual duties,
  • New Living Translation - When these things were all in place, the priests regularly entered the first room as they performed their religious duties.
  • The Message - After this was set up, the priests went about their duties in the large tent. Only the high priest entered the smaller, inside tent, and then only once a year, offering a blood sacrifice for his own sins and the people’s accumulated sins. This was the Holy Spirit’s way of showing with a visible parable that as long as the large tent stands, people can’t just walk in on God. Under this system, the gifts and sacrifices can’t really get to the heart of the matter, can’t assuage the conscience of the people, but are limited to matters of ritual and behavior. It’s essentially a temporary arrangement until a complete overhaul could be made.
  • Christian Standard Bible - With these things prepared like this, the priests enter the first room repeatedly, performing their ministry.
  • New American Standard Bible - Now when these things have been so prepared, the priests are continually entering the outer tabernacle, performing the divine worship,
  • New King James Version - Now when these things had been thus prepared, the priests always went into the first part of the tabernacle, performing the services.
  • Amplified Bible - Now when these things have been prepared in this way, the priests continually enter the outer [or first section of the] tabernacle [that is, the Holy Place] performing [their ritual acts of] the divine worship,
