Numbers 1:6 - of the tribe of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai;
Numbers 1:7 - of the tribe of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;
Numbers 1:8 - of Issachar, Nethanel the son of Zuar;

Numbers 1:16 - These are the men who were called from the congregation, the leaders of their fathers’ tribes; they were the heads of divisions of Israel.”
Numbers 1:17 - So Moses and Aaron took these men who had been designated by name,
Numbers 1:18 - and they assembled all the congregation on the first day of the second month. Then they registered by ancestry in their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, head by head,
Numbers 1:19 - just as the Lord had commanded Moses. So he counted them in the wilderness of Sinai.

Numbers 1:47 - The Levites, however, were not counted among them by their fathers’ tribe.
Numbers 1:48 - For the Lord had spoken to Moses, saying,
Numbers 1:49 - “Only the tribe of Levi you shall not count, nor shall you take their census among the sons of Israel.
Numbers 1:50 - And you shall appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all its furnishings and over everything that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings, and they shall take care of it; they shall also camp around the tabernacle.
Numbers 1:51 - So when the tabernacle is to move on, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle encamps, the Levites shall set it up. But the layman who comes near it shall be put to death.
Numbers 1:52 - So the sons of Israel shall camp, each man by his own camp, and each man by his own flag, according to their armies.
Numbers 1:53 - But the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the testimony, so that there will be no divine wrath against the congregation of the sons of Israel. So the Levites shall be responsible for service to the tabernacle of the testimony.”
Numbers 1:54 - And the sons of Israel did so; in accordance with all that the Lord had commanded Moses, so they did.
Genesis 35:16 - Then they journeyed on from Bethel; but when there was still some distance to go to Ephrath, Rachel began to give birth and she suffered severe difficulties in her labor.

Numbers 26:7 - These are the families of the Reubenites, and those who were counted of them were 43,730.
Numbers 26:8 - The son of Pallu: Eliab.
Numbers 26:9 - The sons of Eliab: Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. These are the Dathan and Abiram who were called by the congregation, who fought against Moses and against Aaron in the group of Korah, when they fought against the Lord,
Numbers 26:10 - and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up along with Korah, when that group died, when the fire devoured 250 men, so that they became a warning sign.
Numbers 26:11 - The sons of Korah, however, did not die.

Numbers 26:33 - Now Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, only daughters; and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
Numbers 26:34 - These are the families of Manasseh; and those who were numbered of them were 52,700.
Numbers 26:35 - These are the sons of Ephraim by their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthelahites; of Becher, the family of the Becherites; of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.

Numbers 26:41 - These are the sons of Benjamin by their families; and those who were numbered of them were 45,600.
Numbers 26:42 - These are the sons of Dan by their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan by their families.
Numbers 26:43 - All the families of the Shuhamites, by those who were numbered of them, were 64,400.
Numbers 26:44 - The sons of Asher by their families: of Imnah, the family of the Imnites; of Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites; of Beriah, the family of the Beriites.
Numbers 26:45 - Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites; of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.
Numbers 26:46 - And the name of the daughter of Asher was Serah.
Numbers 26:47 - These are the families of the sons of Asher by those who were numbered of them, 53,400.
Numbers 26:48 - The sons of Naphtali by their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites; of Guni, the family of the Gunites;
Numbers 26:49 - of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.
Numbers 26:50 - These are the families of Naphtali by their families; and those who were numbered of them were 45,400.
Numbers 26:51 - These are the ones who were numbered of the sons of Israel, 601,730.
Numbers 26:52 - Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
Numbers 26:53 - “ Among these the land shall be divided as an inheritance according to the number of names.
Numbers 26:54 - To a larger group you shall increase their inheritance, and to a smaller group you shall decrease their inheritance; each shall be given their inheritance corresponding to the total of those who were numbered of them.
Numbers 26:55 - But the land shall be divided by lot. They shall receive their inheritance according to the names of the tribes of their fathers.
Numbers 26:56 - Corresponding to the selection by lot, their inheritance shall be divided between the larger and the smaller groups.”
Numbers 26:57 - These are those who were numbered of the Levites according to their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.
Numbers 26:58 - These are the families of Levi: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, and the family of the Korahites. Kohath fathered Amram.
Numbers 26:59 - And the name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt; and she bore to Amram Aaron and Moses, and their sister Miriam.
Numbers 26:60 - And to Aaron were born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
Numbers 26:61 - But Nadab and Abihu died when they offered strange fire before the Lord.
Numbers 26:62 - Those who were numbered of them were twenty-three thousand, every male from a month old and upward, for they were not numbered among the sons of Israel since no inheritance was given to them among the sons of Israel.
Numbers 26:63 - These are the ones who were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the sons of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.
Numbers 26:64 - But among these there was not a man of those who were numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest, who numbered the sons of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.
Numbers 26:65 - For the Lord had said of them, “They shall certainly die in the wilderness.” And not a man was left of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.
Genesis 42:11 - We are all sons of one man; we are honest men, your servants are not spies.”
Numbers 10:1 - The Lord spoke further to Moses, saying,
Numbers 10:2 - “Make yourself two trumpets of silver, you shall make them of hammered work; and you shall use them for summoning the congregation and breaking camp.
Numbers 10:3 - Now when both are blown, all the congregation shall meet you at the entrance of the tent of meeting.
Numbers 10:4 - But if only one is blown, then the leaders, the heads of the divisions of Israel, shall meet you.
Numbers 10:5 - And when you blow an alarm, the camps that are pitched on the east side shall set out.
Numbers 10:6 - Then when you sound an alarm the second time, the camps that are pitched on the south side shall set out; an alarm is to be sounded for them to break camp.
Numbers 10:7 - When convening the assembly, however, you shall blow the trumpets without sounding an alarm.
Numbers 10:8 - The sons of Aaron, moreover, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; and this shall be a permanent statute for you throughout your generations.
Numbers 10:9 - And when you go to war in your land against the enemy who attacks you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, so that you will be thought of by the Lord your God, and be saved from your enemies.
Numbers 10:10 - Also on the day of your joy and at your appointed feasts, and on the first days of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be as a reminder of you before your God. I am the Lord your God.”
Numbers 10:11 - Now in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth of the month, the cloud was lifted from above the tabernacle of the testimony;
Numbers 10:12 - and the sons of Israel set out on their journeys from the wilderness of Sinai. Then the cloud settled in the wilderness of Paran.
Numbers 10:13 - So they moved on for the first time in accordance with the command of the Lord through Moses.
Numbers 10:14 - The flag of the camp of the sons of Judah, by their armies, set out first, with Nahshon the son of Amminadab, over its army,
Numbers 10:15 - and Nethanel the son of Zuar, over the tribal army of the sons of Issachar;
Numbers 10:16 - and Eliab the son of Helon over the tribal army of the sons of Zebulun.
Numbers 10:17 - Then the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who were carrying the tabernacle, set out.
Numbers 10:18 - Next the flag of the camp of Reuben, by their armies, set out with Elizur the son of Shedeur, over its army,
Numbers 10:19 - and Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai over the tribal army of the sons of Simeon,
Numbers 10:20 - and Eliasaph the son of Deuel was over the tribal army of the sons of Gad.
Numbers 10:21 - Then the Kohathites set out, carrying the holy objects; and the tabernacle was set up before their arrival.
Numbers 10:22 - Next the flag of the camp of the sons of Ephraim, by their armies, set out, with Elishama the son of Ammihud over its army,
Numbers 10:23 - and Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur over the tribal army of the sons of Manasseh;
Numbers 10:24 - and Abidan the son of Gideoni over the tribal army of the sons of Benjamin.
Numbers 10:25 - Then the flag of the camp of the sons of Dan, by their armies, which formed the rear guard for all the camps, set out, with Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai over its army,
Numbers 10:26 - and Pagiel the son of Ochran over the tribal army of the sons of Asher;
Numbers 10:27 - and Ahira the son of Enan over the tribal army of the sons of Naphtali.
Numbers 10:28 - This was the order of marching for the sons of Israel by their armies as they set out.
Numbers 10:29 - Then Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out to the place of which the Lord said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will do you good, for the Lord has promised good concerning Israel.”
Numbers 10:30 - But he said to him, “I will not come, but rather will go to my own land and relatives.”
Numbers 10:31 - Then he said, “Please do not leave us, since you know where we should camp in the wilderness, and you will be as eyes for us.
Numbers 10:32 - So it will be, if you go with us, that whatever good the Lord does for us, we will do for you.”
Numbers 10:33 - So they moved on from the mountain of the Lord three days’ journey, with the ark of the covenant of the Lord going on in front of them for the three days, to seek out a resting place for them.
Numbers 10:34 - And the cloud of the Lord was over them by day when they set out from the camp.
Numbers 10:35 - Then it came about when the ark set out that Moses said, “Rise up, Lord! And may Your enemies be scattered, And those who hate You flee from Your presence.”
Numbers 10:36 - And when it came to rest, he said, “Return, Lord, To the myriad thousands of Israel.”
Genesis 29:32 - Leah conceived and gave birth to a son, and named him Reuben, for she said, “Because the Lord has seen my affliction; surely now my husband will love me.”

Genesis 42:36 - And their father Jacob said to them, “You have deprived me of my sons: Joseph is gone, and Simeon is gone, and now you would take Benjamin; all these things are against me.”
1 Chronicles 2:1 - These were the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun,
1 Chronicles 2:2 - Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
1 Chronicles 2:3 - The sons of Judah were Er, Onan, and Shelah; these three were born to him by Bath-shua the Canaanitess. But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was evil in the sight of the Lord, so He put him to death.
1 Chronicles 2:4 - His daughter-in-law Tamar bore him Perez and Zerah. Judah had five sons in all.
1 Chronicles 2:5 - The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.
1 Chronicles 2:6 - The sons of Zerah were Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Dara; five of them in all.
1 Chronicles 2:7 - The son of Carmi was Achar, the one who brought disaster on Israel by violating the ban.
1 Chronicles 2:8 - The son of Ethan was Azariah.
Genesis 30:6 - Then Rachel said, “God has vindicated me, and has indeed heard my voice and has given me a son.” Therefore she named him Dan.
Genesis 30:7 - And Rachel’s slave Bilhah conceived again and bore Jacob a second son.
Genesis 30:8 - So Rachel said, “With mighty wrestling I have wrestled with my sister, and I have indeed prevailed.” And she named him Naphtali.
Genesis 30:9 - When Leah saw that she had stopped having children, she took her slave Zilpah and gave her to Jacob as a wife.
Genesis 30:10 - And Leah’s slave Zilpah bore Jacob a son.
Genesis 30:11 - Then Leah said, “ How fortunate!” So she named him Gad.
Genesis 30:12 - And Leah’s slave Zilpah bore Jacob a second son.
Genesis 30:13 - Then Leah said, “ Happy am I! For women will call me happy.” So she named him Asher.
Genesis 30:14 - Now in the days of wheat harvest Reuben went and found mandrake fruits in the field, and brought them to his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, “Please give me some of your son’s mandrakes.”
Genesis 30:15 - But she said to her, “Is it a small matter for you to take my husband? And would you take my son’s mandrakes also?” So Rachel said, “Therefore he may sleep with you tonight in return for your son’s mandrakes.”
Genesis 30:16 - When Jacob came in from the field in the evening, Leah went out to meet him and said, “You must have relations with me, for I have indeed hired you with my son’s mandrakes.” So he slept with her that night.
Genesis 30:17 - God listened to Leah, and she conceived and bore Jacob a fifth son.
Genesis 30:18 - Then Leah said, “God has given me my reward, because I gave my slave to my husband.” So she named him Issachar.
Genesis 30:19 - And Leah conceived again and bore a sixth son to Jacob.
Genesis 30:20 - Then Leah said, “God has endowed me with a good gift; finally my husband will acknowledge me as his wife, because I have borne him six sons.” So she named him Zebulun.
Genesis 30:21 - Afterward she gave birth to a daughter, and named her Dinah.
Genesis 30:22 - Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb.
Genesis 30:23 - So she conceived and gave birth to a son, and said, “God has taken away my disgrace.”
Genesis 30:24 - And she named him Joseph, saying, “May the Lord give me another son.”
Genesis 45:26 - And they told him, saying, “Joseph is still alive, and indeed he is ruler over all the land of Egypt.” But he was stunned, for he did not believe them.
Numbers 34:1 - Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
Numbers 34:2 - “Command the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When you enter the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance, that is, the land of Canaan according to its borders.
Numbers 34:3 - Your southern region shall extend from the wilderness of Zin along the side of Edom, and your southern border shall extend from the end of the Salt Sea eastward.
Numbers 34:4 - Then your border shall change direction from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim and continue to Zin, and its termination shall be to the south of Kadesh-barnea; and it shall reach Hazaraddar and continue to Azmon.
Numbers 34:5 - Then the border shall change direction from Azmon to the brook of Egypt, and its termination shall be at the sea.
Numbers 34:6 - ‘As for the western border, you shall have the Great Sea, that is, its coastline; this shall be your western border.
Numbers 34:7 - ‘And this shall be your northern border: you shall draw your boundary from the Great Sea to Mount Hor.
Numbers 34:8 - You shall draw a boundary from Mount Hor to the Lebo-hamath, and the termination of the border shall be at Zedad;
Numbers 34:9 - and the border shall proceed to Ziphron, and its termination shall be at Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern border.
Numbers 34:10 - ‘For your eastern border you shall also draw a boundary from Hazar-enan to Shepham,
Numbers 34:11 - and the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain; and the border shall go down and reach to the slope on the east side of the Sea of Chinnereth.
Numbers 34:12 - And the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its termination shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land according to its borders on all sides.’ ”
Numbers 34:13 - So Moses commanded the sons of Israel, saying, “This is the land that you are to possess by lot, which the Lord has commanded to give to the nine and a half tribes.
Numbers 34:14 - For the tribe of the sons of Reuben have received theirs according to their fathers’ households, and the tribe of the sons of Gad according to their fathers’ households, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their possession.
Numbers 34:15 - The two and a half tribes have received their possession across the Jordan opposite Jericho, eastward toward the sunrise.”
Numbers 34:16 - Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
Numbers 34:17 - “These are the names of the men who shall assign the land to you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun.
Numbers 34:18 - And you shall take one leader of each tribe to assign the land as an inheritance.
Numbers 34:19 - These are the names of the men: of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
Numbers 34:20 - Of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Samuel the son of Ammihud.
Numbers 34:21 - Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon.
Numbers 34:22 - And of the tribe of the sons of Dan, a leader, Bukki the son of Jogli.
Numbers 34:23 - Of the sons of Joseph: of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, a leader, Hanniel the son of Ephod.
Numbers 34:24 - Of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, a leader, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan.
Numbers 34:25 - Of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, a leader, Elizaphan the son of Parnach.
Numbers 34:26 - Of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, a leader, Paltiel the son of Azzan.
Numbers 34:27 - Of the tribe of the sons of Asher, a leader, Ahihud the son of Shelomi.
Numbers 34:28 - Of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, a leader, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.”
Numbers 34:29 - These are the ones whom the Lord commanded to apportion the inheritance to the sons of Israel in the land of Canaan.
Genesis 44:28 - and the one left me, and I said, “Surely he is torn to pieces,” and I have not seen him since.
Genesis 46:8 - Now these are the names of the sons of Israel who went to Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.
Genesis 46:9 - And the sons of Reuben: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
Genesis 46:10 - And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman.
Genesis 46:11 - And the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
Genesis 46:12 - And the sons of Judah: Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah (but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan). And the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.
Genesis 46:13 - And the sons of Issachar: Tola, Puvvah, Iob, and Shimron.
Genesis 46:14 - And the sons of Zebulun: Sered, Elon, and Jahleel.
Genesis 46:15 - These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob in Paddan-aram, with his daughter Dinah; all his sons and his daughters numbered thirty-three.
Genesis 46:16 - And the sons of Gad: Ziphion, Haggi, Shuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi, and Areli.
Genesis 46:17 - And the sons of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, and their sister Serah. And the sons of Beriah: Heber and Malchiel.
Genesis 46:18 - These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to his daughter Leah; and she bore to Jacob these sixteen persons.
Genesis 46:19 - The sons of Jacob’s wife Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin.
Genesis 46:20 - Now to Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, whom Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, bore to him.
Genesis 46:21 - And the sons of Benjamin: Bela, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim, and Ard.
Genesis 46:22 - These are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob; there were fourteen persons in all.
Genesis 46:23 - And the sons of Dan: Hushim.
Genesis 46:24 - And the sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem.
Genesis 46:25 - These are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to his daughter Rachel, and she bore these to Jacob; there were seven persons in all.
Genesis 46:26 - All the people belonging to Jacob, who came to Egypt, his direct descendants, not including the wives of Jacob’s sons, were sixty-six persons in all,
Genesis 46:27 - and the sons of Joseph, who were born to him in Egypt, were two; all the people of the house of Jacob, who came to Egypt, were seventy.
Numbers 1:1 - Now the Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tent of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
Numbers 1:2 - “Take a census of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, every male, head by head
Numbers 1:3 - from twenty years old and upward, whoever is able to go to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall count them by their armies.
Numbers 1:4 - With you, moreover, there shall be a man of each tribe, each one head of his father’s household.
Numbers 1:5 - These then are the names of the men who shall stand with you: of the tribe of Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur;
Numbers 1:6 - of the tribe of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai;
Numbers 1:7 - of the tribe of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;
Numbers 1:8 - of Issachar, Nethanel the son of Zuar;
Numbers 1:9 - of Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon;
Numbers 1:10 - of the sons of Joseph: of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;
Numbers 1:11 - of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni;
Numbers 1:12 - of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai;
Numbers 1:13 - of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran;
Numbers 1:14 - of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel;
Numbers 1:15 - of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.
Numbers 1:16 - These are the men who were called from the congregation, the leaders of their fathers’ tribes; they were the heads of divisions of Israel.”
Numbers 1:17 - So Moses and Aaron took these men who had been designated by name,
Numbers 1:18 - and they assembled all the congregation on the first day of the second month. Then they registered by ancestry in their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, head by head,
Numbers 1:19 - just as the Lord had commanded Moses. So he counted them in the wilderness of Sinai.
Numbers 1:20 - Now the sons of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
Numbers 1:21 - their numbered men of the tribe of Reuben were 46,500.
Numbers 1:22 - Of the sons of Simeon, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, their numbered men, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
Numbers 1:23 - their numbered men of the tribe of Simeon were 59,300.
Numbers 1:24 - Of the sons of Gad, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
Numbers 1:25 - their numbered men of the tribe of Gad were 45,650.
Numbers 1:26 - Of the sons of Judah, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
Numbers 1:27 - their numbered men of the tribe of Judah were 74,600.
Numbers 1:28 - Of the sons of Issachar, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
Numbers 1:29 - their numbered men of the tribe of Issachar were 54,400.
Numbers 1:30 - Of the sons of Zebulun, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
Numbers 1:31 - their numbered men of the tribe of Zebulun were 57,400.
Numbers 1:32 - Of the sons of Joseph, namely, of the sons of Ephraim, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
Numbers 1:33 - their numbered men of the tribe of Ephraim were 40,500.
Numbers 1:34 - Of the sons of Manasseh, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
Numbers 1:35 - their numbered men of the tribe of Manasseh were 32,200.
Numbers 1:36 - Of the sons of Benjamin, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
Numbers 1:37 - their numbered men of the tribe of Benjamin were 35,400.
Numbers 1:38 - Of the sons of Dan, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
Numbers 1:39 - their numbered men of the tribe of Dan were 62,700.
Numbers 1:40 - Of the sons of Asher, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
Numbers 1:41 - their numbered men of the tribe of Asher were 41,500.
Numbers 1:42 - Of the sons of Naphtali, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
Numbers 1:43 - their numbered men of the tribe of Naphtali were 53,400.
Numbers 1:44 - These are the ones who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron counted, with the leaders of Israel, twelve men, each of whom was of his father’s household.
Numbers 1:45 - So all the numbered men of the sons of Israel by their fathers’ households, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war in Israel,
Numbers 1:46 - all the numbered men were 603,550.
Numbers 1:47 - The Levites, however, were not counted among them by their fathers’ tribe.
Numbers 1:48 - For the Lord had spoken to Moses, saying,
Numbers 1:49 - “Only the tribe of Levi you shall not count, nor shall you take their census among the sons of Israel.
Numbers 1:50 - And you shall appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all its furnishings and over everything that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings, and they shall take care of it; they shall also camp around the tabernacle.
Numbers 1:51 - So when the tabernacle is to move on, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle encamps, the Levites shall set it up. But the layman who comes near it shall be put to death.
Numbers 1:52 - So the sons of Israel shall camp, each man by his own camp, and each man by his own flag, according to their armies.
Numbers 1:53 - But the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the testimony, so that there will be no divine wrath against the congregation of the sons of Israel. So the Levites shall be responsible for service to the tabernacle of the testimony.”
Numbers 1:54 - And the sons of Israel did so; in accordance with all that the Lord had commanded Moses, so they did.
Genesis 35:16 - Then they journeyed on from Bethel; but when there was still some distance to go to Ephrath, Rachel began to give birth and she suffered severe difficulties in her labor.
Genesis 35:17 - And when she was suffering severe difficulties in her labor, the midwife said to her, “Do not fear, for you have another son!”
Genesis 35:18 - And it came about, as her soul was departing (for she died), that she named him Ben-oni; but his father called him Benjamin.
Genesis 35:19 - So Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem).
Genesis 35:20 - And Jacob set up a memorial stone over her grave; that is the memorial stone of Rachel’s grave to this day.
Genesis 35:21 - Then Israel journeyed on and pitched his tent beyond the tower of Eder.
Genesis 35:22 - And it came about, while Israel was living in that land, that Reuben went and slept with his father’s concubine Bilhah, and Israel heard about it. Now there were twelve sons of Jacob—
Genesis 35:23 - the sons of Leah were Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn, then Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun;
Genesis 35:24 - the sons of Rachel were Joseph and Benjamin;
Genesis 35:25 - and the sons of Bilhah, Rachel’s female slave, were Dan and Naphtali;
Genesis 35:26 - and the sons of Zilpah, Leah’s female slave, were Gad and Asher. These were the sons of Jacob who were born to him in Paddan-aram.
Matthew 2:16 - Then when Herod saw that he had been tricked by the magi, he became very enraged, and sent men and killed all the boys who were in Bethlehem and all its vicinity who were two years old or under, according to the time which he had determined from the magi.
Jeremiah 31:15 - This is what the Lord says: “A voice is heard in Ramah, Lamenting and bitter weeping. Rachel is weeping for her children; She refuses to be comforted for her children, Because they are no more.”
Lamentations 5:7 - Our fathers sinned, and are gone; It is we who have been burdened with the punishment for their wrongdoings.

Numbers 26:1 - Then it came about after the plague, that the Lord spoke to Moses and to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,
Numbers 26:2 - “Take a census of all the congregation of the sons of Israel from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers’ households, whoever is able to go to war in Israel.”
Numbers 26:3 - So Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,
Numbers 26:4 - “Take a census of the people from twenty years old and upward, as the Lord has commanded Moses.” Now the sons of Israel who came out of the land of Egypt were as follows:
Numbers 26:5 - Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, the sons of Reuben: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;
Numbers 26:6 - of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.
Numbers 26:7 - These are the families of the Reubenites, and those who were counted of them were 43,730.
Numbers 26:8 - The son of Pallu: Eliab.
Numbers 26:9 - The sons of Eliab: Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. These are the Dathan and Abiram who were called by the congregation, who fought against Moses and against Aaron in the group of Korah, when they fought against the Lord,
Numbers 26:10 - and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up along with Korah, when that group died, when the fire devoured 250 men, so that they became a warning sign.
Numbers 26:11 - The sons of Korah, however, did not die.
Numbers 26:12 - The sons of Simeon by their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites;
Numbers 26:13 - of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites; of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.
Numbers 26:14 - These are the families of the Simeonites, 22,200 in number.
Numbers 26:15 - The sons of Gad by their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites; of Haggi, the family of the Haggites; of Shuni, the family of the Shunites;
Numbers 26:16 - of Ozni, the family of the Oznites; of Eri, the family of the Erites;
Numbers 26:17 - of Arod, the family of the Arodites; of Areli, the family of the Arelites.
Numbers 26:18 - These are the families of the sons of Gad according to those who were numbered of them, 40,500.
Numbers 26:19 - The sons of Judah were Er and Onan, but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.
Numbers 26:20 - The sons of Judah by their families were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Perezites; of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites.
Numbers 26:21 - The sons of Perez were: of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.
Numbers 26:22 - These are the families of Judah by those who were numbered of them, 76,500.
Numbers 26:23 - The sons of Issachar by their families: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites; of Puvah, the family of the Punites;
Numbers 26:24 - of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites; of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.
Numbers 26:25 - These are the families of Issachar by those who were numbered of them, 64,300.
Numbers 26:26 - The sons of Zebulun by their families: of Sered, the family of the Seredites; of Elon, the family of the Elonites; of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.
Numbers 26:27 - These are the families of the Zebulunites by those who were numbered of them, 60,500.
Numbers 26:28 - The sons of Joseph by their families: Manasseh and Ephraim.
Numbers 26:29 - The sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites; and Machir fathered Gilead: of Gilead, the family of the Gileadites.
Numbers 26:30 - These are the sons of Gilead: of Iezer, the family of the Iezerites; of Helek, the family of the Helekites;
Numbers 26:31 - and of Asriel, the family of the Asrielites; and of Shechem, the family of the Shechemites;
Numbers 26:32 - and of Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites; and of Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.
Numbers 26:33 - Now Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, only daughters; and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
Numbers 26:34 - These are the families of Manasseh; and those who were numbered of them were 52,700.
Numbers 26:35 - These are the sons of Ephraim by their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthelahites; of Becher, the family of the Becherites; of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.
Numbers 26:36 - These are the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites.
Numbers 26:37 - These are the families of the sons of Ephraim by those who were numbered of them, 32,500. These are the sons of Joseph by their families.
Numbers 26:38 - The sons of Benjamin by their families: of Bela, the family of the Belaites; of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites; of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites;
Numbers 26:39 - of Shephupham, the family of the Shuphamites; of Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.
Numbers 26:40 - The sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman: of Ard, the family of the Ardites; of Naaman, the family of the Naamites.
Numbers 26:41 - These are the sons of Benjamin by their families; and those who were numbered of them were 45,600.
Numbers 26:42 - These are the sons of Dan by their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan by their families.
Numbers 26:43 - All the families of the Shuhamites, by those who were numbered of them, were 64,400.
Numbers 26:44 - The sons of Asher by their families: of Imnah, the family of the Imnites; of Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites; of Beriah, the family of the Beriites.
Numbers 26:45 - Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites; of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.
Numbers 26:46 - And the name of the daughter of Asher was Serah.
Numbers 26:47 - These are the families of the sons of Asher by those who were numbered of them, 53,400.
Numbers 26:48 - The sons of Naphtali by their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites; of Guni, the family of the Gunites;
Numbers 26:49 - of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.
Numbers 26:50 - These are the families of Naphtali by their families; and those who were numbered of them were 45,400.
Numbers 26:51 - These are the ones who were numbered of the sons of Israel, 601,730.
Numbers 26:52 - Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
Numbers 26:53 - “ Among these the land shall be divided as an inheritance according to the number of names.
Numbers 26:54 - To a larger group you shall increase their inheritance, and to a smaller group you shall decrease their inheritance; each shall be given their inheritance corresponding to the total of those who were numbered of them.
Numbers 26:55 - But the land shall be divided by lot. They shall receive their inheritance according to the names of the tribes of their fathers.
Numbers 26:56 - Corresponding to the selection by lot, their inheritance shall be divided between the larger and the smaller groups.”
Numbers 26:57 - These are those who were numbered of the Levites according to their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.
Numbers 26:58 - These are the families of Levi: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, and the family of the Korahites. Kohath fathered Amram.
Numbers 26:59 - And the name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt; and she bore to Amram Aaron and Moses, and their sister Miriam.
Numbers 26:60 - And to Aaron were born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
Numbers 26:61 - But Nadab and Abihu died when they offered strange fire before the Lord.
Numbers 26:62 - Those who were numbered of them were twenty-three thousand, every male from a month old and upward, for they were not numbered among the sons of Israel since no inheritance was given to them among the sons of Israel.
Numbers 26:63 - These are the ones who were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the sons of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.
Numbers 26:64 - But among these there was not a man of those who were numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest, who numbered the sons of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.
Numbers 26:65 - For the Lord had said of them, “They shall certainly die in the wilderness.” And not a man was left of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.
Genesis 42:11 - We are all sons of one man; we are honest men, your servants are not spies.”
Numbers 10:1 - The Lord spoke further to Moses, saying,
Numbers 10:2 - “Make yourself two trumpets of silver, you shall make them of hammered work; and you shall use them for summoning the congregation and breaking camp.
Numbers 10:3 - Now when both are blown, all the congregation shall meet you at the entrance of the tent of meeting.
Numbers 10:4 - But if only one is blown, then the leaders, the heads of the divisions of Israel, shall meet you.
Numbers 10:5 - And when you blow an alarm, the camps that are pitched on the east side shall set out.
Numbers 10:6 - Then when you sound an alarm the second time, the camps that are pitched on the south side shall set out; an alarm is to be sounded for them to break camp.
Numbers 10:7 - When convening the assembly, however, you shall blow the trumpets without sounding an alarm.
Numbers 10:8 - The sons of Aaron, moreover, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; and this shall be a permanent statute for you throughout your generations.
Numbers 10:9 - And when you go to war in your land against the enemy who attacks you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, so that you will be thought of by the Lord your God, and be saved from your enemies.
Numbers 10:10 - Also on the day of your joy and at your appointed feasts, and on the first days of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be as a reminder of you before your God. I am the Lord your God.”
Numbers 10:11 - Now in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth of the month, the cloud was lifted from above the tabernacle of the testimony;
Numbers 10:12 - and the sons of Israel set out on their journeys from the wilderness of Sinai. Then the cloud settled in the wilderness of Paran.
Numbers 10:13 - So they moved on for the first time in accordance with the command of the Lord through Moses.
Numbers 10:14 - The flag of the camp of the sons of Judah, by their armies, set out first, with Nahshon the son of Amminadab, over its army,
Numbers 10:15 - and Nethanel the son of Zuar, over the tribal army of the sons of Issachar;
Numbers 10:16 - and Eliab the son of Helon over the tribal army of the sons of Zebulun.
Numbers 10:17 - Then the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who were carrying the tabernacle, set out.
Numbers 10:18 - Next the flag of the camp of Reuben, by their armies, set out with Elizur the son of Shedeur, over its army,
Numbers 10:19 - and Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai over the tribal army of the sons of Simeon,
Numbers 10:20 - and Eliasaph the son of Deuel was over the tribal army of the sons of Gad.
Numbers 10:21 - Then the Kohathites set out, carrying the holy objects; and the tabernacle was set up before their arrival.
Numbers 10:22 - Next the flag of the camp of the sons of Ephraim, by their armies, set out, with Elishama the son of Ammihud over its army,
Numbers 10:23 - and Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur over the tribal army of the sons of Manasseh;
Numbers 10:24 - and Abidan the son of Gideoni over the tribal army of the sons of Benjamin.
Numbers 10:25 - Then the flag of the camp of the sons of Dan, by their armies, which formed the rear guard for all the camps, set out, with Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai over its army,
Numbers 10:26 - and Pagiel the son of Ochran over the tribal army of the sons of Asher;
Numbers 10:27 - and Ahira the son of Enan over the tribal army of the sons of Naphtali.
Numbers 10:28 - This was the order of marching for the sons of Israel by their armies as they set out.
Numbers 10:29 - Then Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out to the place of which the Lord said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will do you good, for the Lord has promised good concerning Israel.”
Numbers 10:30 - But he said to him, “I will not come, but rather will go to my own land and relatives.”
Numbers 10:31 - Then he said, “Please do not leave us, since you know where we should camp in the wilderness, and you will be as eyes for us.
Numbers 10:32 - So it will be, if you go with us, that whatever good the Lord does for us, we will do for you.”
Numbers 10:33 - So they moved on from the mountain of the Lord three days’ journey, with the ark of the covenant of the Lord going on in front of them for the three days, to seek out a resting place for them.
Numbers 10:34 - And the cloud of the Lord was over them by day when they set out from the camp.
Numbers 10:35 - Then it came about when the ark set out that Moses said, “Rise up, Lord! And may Your enemies be scattered, And those who hate You flee from Your presence.”
Numbers 10:36 - And when it came to rest, he said, “Return, Lord, To the myriad thousands of Israel.”
Genesis 29:32 - Leah conceived and gave birth to a son, and named him Reuben, for she said, “Because the Lord has seen my affliction; surely now my husband will love me.”
Genesis 29:33 - Then she conceived again and gave birth to a son, and said, “Because the Lord has heard that I am unloved, He has therefore given me this son also.” So she named him Simeon.
Genesis 29:34 - And she conceived again and gave birth to a son, and said, “Now this time my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore he was named Levi.
Genesis 29:35 - And she conceived again and gave birth to a son, and said, “This time I will praise the Lord.” Therefore she named him Judah. Then she stopped having children.
Matthew 2:18 - “A voice was heard in Ramah, Weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children; And she refused to be comforted, Because they were no more.”
Genesis 43:7 - But they said, “The man specifically asked about us and our relatives, saying, ‘Is your father still alive? Have you another brother?’ So we answered his questions. Could we possibly know that he would say, ‘Bring your brother down’?”
Genesis 42:32 - We are twelve brothers, sons of our father; one is no longer alive, and the youngest is with our father today in the land of Canaan.’
Genesis 44:20 - And we said to my lord, ‘We have an old father and a little boy born in our father’s old age. Now his brother is dead, so he alone is left of his mother, and his father loves him.’
Genesis 37:30 - He returned to his brothers and said, “The boy is not there; as for me, where am I to go?”
