  • Acts 25:3 - asking for a favor against Paul, that Festus summon him to Jerusalem. They were, in fact, preparing an ambush along the road to kill him.
  • Matthew 28:12 - After the priests had assembled with the elders and agreed on a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money
  • Matthew 28:13 - and told them, “Say this, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him while we were sleeping.’
  • Matthew 28:14 - If this reaches the governor’s ears, we will deal with him and keep you out of trouble.”
  • Matthew 28:15 - They took the money and did as they were instructed, and this story has been spread among Jewish people to this day.
  • Hebrews 3:2 - He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was in all God’s household.

  • Leviticus 24:16 - Whoever blasphemes the name of the Lord must be put to death; the whole community is to stone him. If he blasphemes the Name, he is to be put to death, whether the resident alien or the native.
  • Acts 25:7 - When he arrived, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem stood around him and brought many serious charges that they were not able to prove.

  • Matthew 26:59 - The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false testimony against Jesus so that they could put him to death,
  • Matthew 26:60 - but they could not find any, even though many false witnesses came forward. Finally, two who came forward
