  • Psalms 37:13 - But the Lord just laughs, for he sees their day of judgment coming.
  • Psalms 37:14 - The wicked draw their swords and string their bows to kill the poor and the oppressed, to slaughter those who do right.

  • Matthew 5:10 - God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
  • Matthew 5:11 - “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.
  • Matthew 5:12 - Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.
  • John 15:19 - The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.
  • John 15:20 - Do you remember what I told you? ‘A slave is not greater than the master.’ Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute you. And if they had listened to me, they would listen to you.
  • John 15:21 - They will do all this to you because of me, for they have rejected the one who sent me.
  • 1 Peter 5:9 - Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.
  • 1 Peter 5:10 - In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.
  • 1 Corinthians 15:19 - And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world.
  • Acts of the Apostles 14:22 - where they strengthened the believers. They encouraged them to continue in the faith, reminding them that we must suffer many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God.
  • Matthew 16:24 - Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.
  • 1 Peter 3:14 - But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats.

  • 1 Peter 4:15 - If you suffer, however, it must not be for murder, stealing, making trouble, or prying into other people’s affairs.
  • 1 Peter 4:16 - But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name!
  • 1 Peter 2:20 - Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently, God is pleased with you.
  • 1 Peter 2:21 - For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.
