New International Version - Then Josiah looked around, and when he saw the tombs that were there on the hillside, he had the bones removed from them and burned on the altar to defile it, in accordance with the word of the Lord proclaimed by the man of God who foretold these things.

And he burned them on the altar to make it “unclean.” That’s what the Lord had said would happen. He had spoken that message through a man of God. 3 Царств 13:1 - Когда Иеровоам стоял у жертвенника, чтобы возжечь кадильные благовония, из земель Иудеи в Вефиль, по слову Господа, пришел Божий человек.
3 Царств 13:2 - Он крикнул жертвеннику по слову Господа: – Жертвенник, жертвенник! Так говорит Господь: «Родится дому Давида сын по имени Иосия. На тебе принесет он в жертву тех самых жрецов святилищ , которые возжигают на тебе благовония, и сожжет на тебе человеческие кости» .
3 Царств 13:32 - Ведь то, что он возвестил по слову Господа против жертвенника Вефиля и против всех святилищ на возвышенностях в городах Самарии, непременно исполнится.
