  • Isaiah 53:10 - The Lord says, “It was my plan to crush him and cause him to suffer. I made his life an offering to pay for sin. But he will see all his children after him. In fact, he will continue to live. My plan will be brought about through him.
  • Isaiah 53:11 - After he has suffered, he will see the light of life. And he will be satisfied. My godly servant will make many people godly because of what he will accomplish. He will be punished for their sins.
  • Isaiah 53:12 - So I will give him a place of honor among those who are great. He will be rewarded just like others who win the battle. That’s because he was willing to give his life as a sacrifice. He was counted among those who had committed crimes. He took the sins of many people on himself. And he gave his life for those who had done what is wrong.”
  • 1 John 2:1 - My dear children, I’m writing this to you so that you will not sin. But suppose someone does sin. Then we have a friend who speaks to the Father for us. He is Jesus Christ, the Blameless One.
  • 1 John 2:2 - He gave his life to pay for our sins. But he not only paid for our sins. He also paid for the sins of the whole world.
  • Romans 1:17 - The good news shows God’s power to make people right with himself. God’s power to be made right with him is given to the person who has faith. It happens by faith from beginning to end. It is written, “The one who is right with God will live by faith.” ( Habakkuk 2:4 )
  • Romans 4:25 - Jesus was handed over to die for our sins. He was raised to life in order to make us right with God.
  • Romans 8:1 - Those who belong to Christ Jesus are no longer under God’s judgment.
  • Romans 8:2 - Because of what Christ Jesus has done, you are free. You are now controlled by the law of the Holy Spirit who gives you life. The law of the Spirit frees you from the law of sin that brings death.
  • Romans 8:3 - The written law was made weak by the power of sin. But God did what the written law could not do. He made his Son to be like those who live under the power of sin. God sent him to be an offering for sin. Jesus suffered God’s judgment against our sin.
  • Romans 8:4 - Jesus does for us everything the holy law requires. The power of sin should no longer control the way we live. The Holy Spirit should control the way we live.
  • Romans 3:21 - But now God has shown us his saving power without the help of the law. But the Law and the Prophets tell us about this.
  • Romans 3:22 - We are made right with God by putting our faith in Jesus Christ. This happens to all who believe. It is no different for the Jews than for the Gentiles.
  • Romans 3:23 - Everyone has sinned. No one measures up to God’s glory.
  • Romans 3:24 - The free gift of God’s grace makes us right with him. Christ Jesus paid the price to set us free.
  • Romans 3:25 - God gave Christ as a sacrifice to pay for sins through the spilling of his blood. So God forgives the sins of those who have faith. God did all this to prove that he does what is right. He is a God of mercy. So he did not punish for their sins the people who lived before Jesus lived.
  • Romans 3:26 - God did all this to prove in our own time that he does what is right. He also makes right with himself those who believe in Jesus.
  • Romans 10:3 - They didn’t know that God’s power makes people right with himself. They tried to get right with God in their own way. They didn’t do it in God’s way.
  • Romans 10:4 - Christ has fulfilled everything the law was meant to do. So now everyone who believes can be right with God.
  • Hebrews 4:15 - We have a high priest who can feel it when we are weak and hurting. We have a high priest who has been tempted in every way, just as we are. But he did not sin.
  • 2 Corinthians 5:17 - When anyone lives in Christ, the new creation has come. The old is gone! The new is here!
  • Isaiah 53:4 - He suffered the things we should have suffered. He took on himself the pain that should have been ours. But we thought God was punishing him. We thought God was wounding him and making him suffer.
  • Isaiah 53:5 - But the servant was pierced because we had sinned. He was crushed because we had done what was evil. He was punished to make us whole again. His wounds have healed us.
  • Isaiah 53:6 - All of us are like sheep. We have wandered away from God. All of us have turned to our own way. And the Lord has placed on his servant the sins of all of us.
  • Philippians 3:9 - I want to be joined to him. Being right with God does not come from my obeying the law. It comes because I believe in Christ. It comes from God because of faith.
  • 1 Corinthians 1:30 - Because of what God has done, you belong to Christ Jesus. He has become God’s wisdom for us. He makes us right with God. He makes us holy and sets us free.
  • Romans 5:19 - Many people were made sinners because one man did not obey. But one man did obey. That is why many people will be made right with God.
  • Galatians 3:13 - Christ set us free from the curse of the law. He did it by becoming a curse for us. It is written, “Everyone who is hung on a pole is under God’s curse.” ( Deuteronomy 21:23 )
  • 1 Peter 3:18 - Christ also suffered once for sins. The one who did what is right suffered for those who don’t do right. He suffered to bring you to God. His body was put to death. But the Holy Spirit brought him back to life.
  • 1 Peter 2:22 - Scripture says, “He didn’t commit any sin. No lies ever came out of his mouth.” ( Isaiah 53:9 )
  • 1 Peter 2:23 - People shouted at him and made fun of him. But he didn’t do the same thing back to them. When he suffered, he didn’t say he would make them suffer. Instead, he trusted in the God who judges fairly.
  • 1 Peter 2:24 - “He himself carried our sins” in his body on the cross. ( Isaiah 53:5 ) He did it so that we would die as far as sins are concerned. Then we would lead godly lives. “His wounds have healed you.” ( Isaiah 53:5 )
