I and my attendants will fast just as you do. Then I’ll go to the king. I’ll do it even though it’s against the law. And if I have to die, I’ll die.”
Daniel 6:10 - Daniel found out that the king had signed the order. In spite of that, he did just as he had always done before. He went home to his upstairs room. Its windows opened toward Jerusalem. He went to his room three times a day to pray. He got down on his knees and gave thanks to his God.
Daniel 6:11 - Some of the other royal officials went to where Daniel was staying. They saw him praying and asking God for help.
Revelation 4:10 - At the same time, the 24 elders fall down and worship the one who sits on the throne. He lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns in front of the throne. They say,
Revelation 4:11 - “You are worthy, our Lord and God! You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power. You are worthy because you created all things. They were created and they exist. This is the way you planned it.”
Jeremiah 26:11 - Then the priests and prophets spoke to the officials and all the people. They said, “This man should be sentenced to death. He has prophesied against this city. You have heard it with your own ears!”
Jeremiah 26:12 - Then Jeremiah spoke to all the officials and people. He said, “The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and this city. He told me to say everything you have heard.
Jeremiah 26:13 - So change the way you live and act. Obey the Lord your God. Then he won’t do what he said he would. He won’t bring on you the trouble he said he would bring.
Jeremiah 26:14 - As for me, I’m in your hands. Do to me what you think is good and right.
Jeremiah 26:15 - But you can be sure of one thing. If you put me to death, you will be held responsible for spilling my blood. And I haven’t even done anything wrong. You will bring guilt on yourselves and this city and those who live in it. The Lord has sent me to you. He wanted me to say all these things so you could hear them. And that’s the truth.”
Isaiah 40:27 - Family of Jacob, why do you complain, “The Lord doesn’t notice our condition”? People of Israel, why do you say, “Our God doesn’t pay any attention to our rightful claims”?
Isaiah 40:28 - Don’t you know who made everything? Haven’t you heard about him? The Lord is the God who lives forever. He created everything on earth. He won’t become worn out or get tired. No one will ever know how great his understanding is.
Isaiah 43:7 - Bring back everyone who belongs to me. I created them to bring glory to me. I formed them and made them.”
Revelation 5:9 - Here is the new song they sang. “You are worthy to take the scroll and break open its seals. You are worthy because you were put to death. With your blood you bought people for God. They come from every tribe, people and nation, no matter what language they speak.
Revelation 5:10 - You have made them members of a royal family. You have made them priests to serve our God. They will rule on the earth.”
Revelation 5:11 - Then I looked and heard the voice of millions and millions of angels. They surrounded the throne. They surrounded the living creatures and the elders.
Revelation 5:12 - In a loud voice they were saying, “The Lamb, who was put to death, is worthy! He is worthy to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength! He is worthy to receive honor and glory and praise!”
Revelation 5:13 - All creatures in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and on the sea were speaking. The whole creation was speaking. I heard all of them say, “Praise and honor belong to the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb! Glory and power belong to God for ever and ever!”
Revelation 5:14 - The four living creatures said, “Amen.” And the elders fell down and worshiped.
Acts 7:59 - While the members of the Sanhedrin were throwing stones at Stephen, he prayed. “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit,” he said.
Psalm 31:5 - Into your hands I commit my very life. Lord, set me free. You are my faithful God.
Luke 23:46 - Jesus called out in a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my life.” After he said this, he took his last breath.
Colossians 1:16 - All things were created in him. He created everything in heaven and on earth. He created everything that can be seen and everything that can’t be seen. He created kings, powers, rulers and authorities. All things have been created by him and for him.
Colossians 1:17 - Before anything was created, he was already there. He holds everything together.
Colossians 1:18 - And he is the head of the body, which is the church. He is the beginning. He is the first to be raised from the dead. That happened so that he would be far above everything.
Colossians 1:19 - God was pleased to have his whole nature living in Christ.
Colossians 1:20 - God was pleased to bring all things back to himself. That’s because of what Christ has done. These things include everything on earth and in heaven. God made peace through Christ’s blood, by his death on the cross.
Acts 21:11 - He came over to us. Then he took Paul’s belt and tied his own hands and feet with it. He said, “The Holy Spirit says, ‘This is how the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will tie up the owner of this belt. They will hand him over to the Gentiles.’ ”
Acts 21:12 - When we heard this, we all begged Paul not to go up to Jerusalem.
Acts 21:13 - He asked, “Why are you crying? Why are you breaking my heart? I’m ready to be put in prison. In fact, I’m ready to die in Jerusalem for the Lord Jesus.”
Acts 21:14 - We couldn’t change his mind. So we gave up. We said, “May what the Lord wants to happen be done.”
Daniel 3:16 - Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him. They said, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we don’t need to talk about this anymore.
Daniel 3:17 - We might be thrown into the blazing furnace. But the God we serve is able to bring us out of it alive. He will save us from your power.
Daniel 3:18 - But we want you to know this, Your Majesty. Even if we knew that our God wouldn’t save us, we still wouldn’t serve your gods. We wouldn’t worship the gold statue you set up.”
Daniel 6:22 - My God sent his angel. And his angel shut the mouths of the lions. They haven’t hurt me at all. That’s because I haven’t done anything wrong in God’s sight. I’ve never done anything wrong to you either, Your Majesty.”
Isaiah 54:16 - “I created blacksmiths. They fan the coals into flames of fire. They make weapons that are fit for their work. I also created those who destroy others.
Isaiah 54:17 - But no weapon used against you will succeed. People might bring charges against you. But you will prove that they are wrong. Those are the things I do for my servants. I make everything right for them,” announces the Lord.
1 Peter 2:15 - By doing good you will put a stop to the talk of foolish people. They don’t know what they are saying.
Psalm 138:8 - Lord, you will show that I was right to trust you. Lord, your faithful love continues forever. You have done so much for us, so don’t stop now.
Psalm 146:5 - Blessed are those who depend on the God of Jacob for help. Blessed are those who put their hope in the Lord their God.
Psalm 146:6 - He is the Maker of heaven and earth and the ocean. He made everything in them. He remains faithful forever.
Romans 2:7 - God will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good. They want glory, honor, and life that never ends.
Psalm 37:5 - Commit your life to the Lord. Here is what he will do if you trust in him.
1 Peter 4:12 - Dear friends, don’t be surprised by the terrible things happening to you. The trouble you are having has come to test you. So don’t feel as if something strange were happening to you.
1 Peter 4:13 - Instead, be joyful that you are taking part in Christ’s sufferings. Then you will have even more joy when Christ returns in glory.
1 Peter 4:14 - Suppose people say bad things about you because you believe in Christ. Then you are blessed, because God’s Spirit rests on you. He is the Spirit of glory.
1 Peter 4:15 - If you suffer, it shouldn’t be because you are a murderer. It shouldn’t be because you are a thief or someone who does evil things. It shouldn’t be because you interfere with other people’s business.
1 Peter 4:16 - But suppose you suffer for being a Christian. Then don’t be ashamed. Instead, praise God because you are known by the name of Christ.
1 Peter 3:17 - God may want you to suffer for doing good. That’s better than suffering for doing evil.
2 Timothy 1:12 - That’s why I’m suffering the way I am. But this gives me no reason to be ashamed. That’s because I know who I have believed in. I am sure he is able to take care of what I have given him. I can trust him with it until the day he returns as judge.
