1 Peter 4:15 - If you suffer, it shouldn’t be because you are a murderer. It shouldn’t be because you are a thief or someone who does evil things. It shouldn’t be because you interfere with other people’s business.
1 Peter 4:16 - But suppose you suffer for being a Christian. Then don’t be ashamed. Instead, praise God because you are known by the name of Christ.
Matthew 5:10 - Blessed are those who suffer for doing what is right. The kingdom of heaven belongs to them.
Matthew 5:11 - “Blessed are you when people make fun of you and hurt you because of me. You are also blessed when they tell all kinds of evil lies about you because of me.
Matthew 5:12 - Be joyful and glad. Your reward in heaven is great. In the same way, people hurt the prophets who lived long ago.
Matthew 10:28 - Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but can’t kill the soul. Instead, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
Luke 6:22 - Blessed are you when people hate you, when they have nothing to do with you and say bad things about you, and when they treat your name as something evil. They do all this because you are followers of the Son of Man.
Luke 6:23 - “The prophets of long ago were treated the same way. When these things happen to you, be glad and jump for joy. You will receive many blessings in heaven.
Isaiah 8:12 - “People of Judah, do not agree with those who say Isaiah is guilty of treason. Do not fear what they fear. Do not be afraid.
Isaiah 8:13 - The Lord rules over all. So you must think about him as holy. You must have respect for him. You must fear him.
1 Peter 2:19 - Suppose a person suffers pain unfairly because they want to obey God. This is worthy of praise.
1 Peter 2:20 - But suppose you receive a beating for doing wrong, and you put up with it. Will anyone honor you for this? Of course not. But suppose you suffer for doing good, and you put up with it. God will praise you for this.
