1 Timothy 6:9 - Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
1 Timothy 6:10 - For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
Esther 5:9 - Haman went out that day happy and in high spirits. But when he saw Mordecai at the king’s gate and observed that he neither rose nor showed fear in his presence, he was filled with rage against Mordecai.

Esther 5:11 - Haman boasted to them about his vast wealth, his many sons, and all the ways the king had honored him and how he had elevated him above the other nobles and officials.
Esther 5:12 - “And that’s not all,” Haman added. “I’m the only person Queen Esther invited to accompany the king to the banquet she gave. And she has invited me along with the king tomorrow.
Esther 5:13 - But all this gives me no satisfaction as long as I see that Jew Mordecai sitting at the king’s gate.”
Esther 5:14 - His wife Zeresh and all his friends said to him, “Have a pole set up, reaching to a height of fifty cubits, and ask the king in the morning to have Mordecai impaled on it. Then go with the king to the banquet and enjoy yourself.” This suggestion delighted Haman, and he had the pole set up.
Esther 6:12 - Afterward Mordecai returned to the king’s gate. But Haman rushed home, with his head covered in grief,
1 Kings 21:2 - Ahab said to Naboth, “Let me have your vineyard to use for a vegetable garden, since it is close to my palace. In exchange I will give you a better vineyard or, if you prefer, I will pay you whatever it is worth.”
1 Kings 21:3 - But Naboth replied, “The Lord forbid that I should give you the inheritance of my ancestors.”
1 Kings 21:4 - So Ahab went home, sullen and angry because Naboth the Jezreelite had said, “I will not give you the inheritance of my ancestors.” He lay on his bed sulking and refused to eat.
James 4:2 - You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.

James 4:5 - Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us ?
James 4:6 - But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
James 4:7 - Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
