Judges 19:1 - In those days, when there was no king in Israel, a certain Levite was sojourning in the remote parts of the hill country of Ephraim, who took to himself a concubine from Bethlehem in Judah.
Judges 19:2 - And his concubine was unfaithful to him, and she went away from him to her father’s house at Bethlehem in Judah, and was there some four months.
1 Kings 17:1 - Now Elijah the Tishbite, of Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.”
1 Kings 17:2 - And the word of the Lord came to him:
1 Kings 17:3 - “Depart from here and turn eastward and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan.
1 Kings 17:4 - You shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”
1 Kings 17:5 - So he went and did according to the word of the Lord. He went and lived by the brook Cherith that is east of the Jordan.
1 Kings 17:6 - And the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.
1 Kings 17:7 - And after a while the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land.
1 Kings 17:8 - Then the word of the Lord came to him,
1 Kings 17:9 - “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to feed you.”
1 Kings 17:10 - So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Bring me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.”
1 Kings 17:11 - And as she was going to bring it, he called to her and said, “Bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”
1 Kings 17:12 - And she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I have nothing baked, only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. And now I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it and die.”
2 Samuel 21:1 - Now there was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year. And David sought the face of the Lord. And the Lord said, “There is bloodguilt on Saul and on his house, because he put the Gibeonites to death.”
Joel 1:10 - The fields are destroyed, the ground mourns, because the grain is destroyed, the wine dries up, the oil languishes.
Joel 1:11 - Be ashamed, O tillers of the soil; wail, O vinedressers, for the wheat and the barley, because the harvest of the field has perished.
Jeremiah 14:1 - The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah concerning the drought:
Ezekiel 14:21 - “For thus says the Lord God: How much more when I send upon Jerusalem my four disastrous acts of judgment, sword, famine, wild beasts, and pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast!
Joel 1:16 - Is not the food cut off before our eyes, joy and gladness from the house of our God?
Joel 1:17 - The seed shrivels under the clods; the storehouses are desolate; the granaries are torn down because the grain has dried up.
Joel 1:18 - How the beasts groan! The herds of cattle are perplexed because there is no pasture for them; even the flocks of sheep suffer.
Joel 1:19 - To you, O Lord, I call. For fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and flame has burned all the trees of the field.
Joel 1:20 - Even the beasts of the field pant for you because the water brooks are dried up, and fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
1 Kings 18:2 - So Elijah went to show himself to Ahab. Now the famine was severe in Samaria.
Judges 2:16 - Then the Lord raised up judges, who saved them out of the hand of those who plundered them.
Judges 2:17 - Yet they did not listen to their judges, for they whored after other gods and bowed down to them. They soon turned aside from the way in which their fathers had walked, who had obeyed the commandments of the Lord, and they did not do so.
Judges 2:18 - Whenever the Lord raised up judges for them, the Lord was with the judge, and he saved them from the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge. For the Lord was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who afflicted and oppressed them.
Amos 4:6 - “I gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and lack of bread in all your places, yet you did not return to me,” declares the Lord.
Ezekiel 14:13 - “Son of man, when a land sins against me by acting faithlessly, and I stretch out my hand against it and break its supply of bread and send famine upon it, and cut off from it man and beast,
Psalms 105:16 - When he summoned a famine on the land and broke all supply of bread,
Genesis 43:1 - Now the famine was severe in the land.
Judges 17:8 - And the man departed from the town of Bethlehem in Judah to sojourn where he could find a place. And as he journeyed, he came to the hill country of Ephraim to the house of Micah.
2 Kings 8:1 - Now Elisha had said to the woman whose son he had restored to life, “Arise, and depart with your household, and sojourn wherever you can, for the Lord has called for a famine, and it will come upon the land for seven years.”
2 Kings 8:2 - So the woman arose and did according to the word of the man of God. She went with her household and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.
Genesis 12:10 - Now there was a famine in the land. So Abram went down to Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine was severe in the land.
Genesis 26:1 - Now there was a famine in the land, besides the former famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Gerar to Abimelech king of the Philistines.
