  • Isaiah 10:15 - Does an ax claim to be more important than the person who swings it? Does a saw brag that it is better than the one who uses it? That would be like a stick swinging the person who picks it up! It would be like a war club waving the one who carries it!
  • Isaiah 10:16 - So the Lord who rules over all will send a sickness. The Lord will send it on the king of Assyria’s strong fighting men. It will make them weaker and weaker. The army he was so proud of will be completely destroyed. It will be as if it had been burned up in a fire.
  • Psalm 145:13 - Your kingdom is a kingdom that will last forever. Your rule will continue for all time to come. The Lord will keep all his promises. He is faithful in everything he does.
  • Daniel 6:26 - “I order people in every part of my kingdom to respect and honor Daniel’s God. “He is the living God. He will live forever. His kingdom will not be destroyed. His rule will never end.
  • Daniel 6:27 - He sets people free and saves them. He does miraculous signs and wonders. He does them in the heavens and on the earth. He has saved Daniel from the power of the lions.”
  • Psalm 73:3 - I saw that proud and sinful people were doing well. And I began to long for what they had.
  • Psalm 73:4 - They don’t have any troubles. Their bodies are healthy and strong.
  • Psalm 73:5 - They don’t have the problems most people have. They don’t suffer as other people do.
  • Psalm 73:6 - Their pride is like a necklace. They put on meanness as if it were their clothes.
  • Psalm 73:7 - Many sins come out of their hard and stubborn hearts. There is no limit to the evil things they can think up.
  • Psalm 73:8 - They laugh at others and speak words of hatred. They are proud. They warn others about the harm they can do to them.
  • Psalm 73:9 - They brag as if they owned heaven itself. They talk as if they controlled the earth.
  • Psalm 73:10 - So people listen to them. They lap up their words like water.
  • Psalm 73:11 - They say, “How would God know what we’re doing? Does the Most High God know anything?”
  • Psalm 73:12 - Here is what sinful people are like. They don’t have a care in the world. They keep getting richer and richer.
  • Psalm 2:10 - Kings, be wise! Rulers of the earth, be warned!
  • Psalm 2:11 - Serve the Lord and have respect for him. Celebrate his rule with trembling.
  • Psalm 2:12 - Obey the son completely, or he will be angry. Your way of life will lead to your death. His anger can blaze out at any moment. Blessed are all those who go to him for safety.
  • 2 Chronicles 16:9 - The Lord looks out over the whole earth. He gives strength to those who commit their lives completely to him. You have done a foolish thing. From now on you will be at war.”
  • Daniel 5:20 - But his heart became very stubborn and proud. So he was removed from his royal throne. His glory was stripped away from him.
  • Daniel 5:21 - He was driven away from people. He was given the mind of an animal. He lived with the wild donkeys. He ate grass just as an ox does. His body became wet with the dew of heaven. He stayed that way until he recognized that the Most High God rules over all kingdoms on earth. He puts anyone he wants to in charge of them.
  • Daniel 5:22 - “But you knew all that, Belshazzar. After all, you are Nebuchadnezzar’s son. In spite of that, you are still proud.
  • Daniel 5:23 - You have taken your stand against the Lord of heaven. You had your servants bring cups from his temple to you. You and your nobles drank wine from them. So did your wives and concubines. You praised your gods. The statues of those gods are made out of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood or stone. They can’t see or hear or understand anything. But you didn’t honor God. He holds in his hand your very life and everything you do.
  • Daniel 5:24 - So he sent the hand that wrote on the wall.
  • Daniel 5:25 - “Here is what was written. mene, mene, tekel, parsin
  • Daniel 5:26 - “And here is what these words mean. “The word Mene means that God has limited the time of your rule. He has brought it to an end.
  • Daniel 5:27 - “The word Tekel means that you have been weighed on scales. And you haven’t measured up to God’s standard.
  • Daniel 5:28 - “The word Peres means that your authority over your kingdom will be taken away from you. It will be given to the Medes and Persians.”
  • Psalm 140:8 - Lord, don’t give sinners what they want. Don’t let their plans succeed.
  • Psalm 11:4 - The Lord is in his holy temple. The Lord is on his throne in heaven. He watches everyone on earth. His eyes study them.
