The vessels from his house were brought to you, and as you and your nobles, wives, and concubines drank wine from them, you praised the gods made of silver and gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or understand. But you have not glorified the God who holds your life-breath in his hand and who controls the whole course of your life.
  • Jeremiah 32:19 - the one great in counsel and powerful in action. Your eyes are on all the ways of the children of men in order to reward each person according to his ways and as the result of his actions.
  • Jeremiah 17:10 - I, the Lord, examine the mind, I test the heart to give to each according to his way, according to what his actions deserve.

  • 1 Samuel 16:7 - But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or his stature because I have rejected him. Humans do not see what the Lord sees, for humans see what is visible, but the Lord sees the heart.”
  • Proverbs 21:2 - All a person’s ways seem right to him, but the Lord weighs hearts.
  • Revelation 2:23 - I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am the one who examines minds and hearts, and I will give to each of you according to your works.
